I’m force-reading some malay pantun online and trying to translate it cos my malay is so freaking bad now!!!
Obviously it’s for work or else i wouldn’t be doing this
My malay is damn bad

I’m just going to blame it on early education in UK
An example of how bad my malay is

I’m supposed to be the more Malaysian one here, so i confidently answered
“Hmm jiwa is soul… and belaian is swinging. So it means swinging of the soul.”
Later on, i was proudly telling someone how i translated for Adam
“Joyce. Belaian is soothing. *Buaian* means swinging.”
“Oh YA HOR. CraP motherf…”
So yeah.
Never ask me for directions.
And never ask me to translate malay.
