TimeOut was launched in KL this month and i got to view the cover two months after the shoot.
DidiBuli and i were arguing over the air-con in the office.
She preferred it switched off, saying it was too cold.
I kept on going, “Fuck… it’s damn hot okay!”
In the end, she picked up TimeOut from another table and flapped it in my face, “Yeah Joyce! We know you like it cold okay!!!”
It does look frosty, doesn’t it?
The creative team did a great job!
They had one of their three launches in Frangipani on Changkat BB last Tuesday.
“Look, it’s you!” exclaimed AdamPoserPan.
We’d bumped into each other at the entrance and waited together for our (late) friends to arrive.
I looked over at images of the cover, placed on a car windshield and a banner outside.
And saw many many images of myself staring up at the sky.
“So weird… i’m so not used to it!”

Who stuck me in a fridge for 4 hours.
And one picture was used.
Where… you can’t even see the fridge. *faints*

Justin asked me to be his muse a couple of weeks ago for the upcoming MIFA thing.
“You just have to walk down the runway with me,” he said.
“… Are you sure? You do know i’m short right… 0_-” *has images of self tripping/stumbling/smiling too cheesily/other embarrassing action that will be damn 7 obvious under bright light.
He insisted, saying he’s designing me a haute couture dress just for me!, and i happily agreed.
Few days later Shantini from Tattle mag called me on the phone, “Are you going for the MIFA thing in April?”
“Yeah, i guess so, Justin Yap asked me to be his muse.”
“Ha? Really?”
Seems she called cos someone else asked her to ask me to be their muse.

I was like, me? why?! Justin i can understand more la, we’re friends and both inspire each other.

Adam kept on saying how we HAD to watch one of their colleagues from Astro, Sebastian, perform his card tricks, so i was like, “Okay!” (cos i’m all for magic tricks) and dragged Mark and Justin to watch too.
But his tricks were good.
Seriously good.
Like, David Blane kinda stuff going on that made all our jaws drop and me go, “What the fuckkkkk, you’ve got some voodoo shit going on!”
There was one where he made Mark hold two cards (say two queens) and we all get to see that, yes, he IS holding on to the two cards without letting go.
Then when Mark flips them over, they’re two other cards instead.
But Sebastian never holds them.

Johan asked me, “You’re on the Timeout cover, you’re a model?”
“Oh God, no. I’m no model.”
“Then… what do you do?” he asked, perplexed.
“Erm…”
Luckily someone interrupted our conversation before i had to think of the best way to answer ‘i got on a cover because i blog how much i go out.’
