Malaysian Dreamgirl Finals

I arrived at 1 Utama in time for the finalists’ first appearance, but we were really bored and hungry so RowdyRudy and i fled to Chilli’s to have some grub and tequila shots before heading back down.

Just in time for the winner to be called (thanks to Denise for alerting me :xhappy: )

Malaysian Dreamgirl FinalsMalaysian Dreamgirl Finals
Adeline, Hanis, Cindy and Elaine

Winner of the first Malaysian Dreamgirl was to walk away with
- a Nissan Latio 1.8Ti (A)
- RM10,000 preloaded AmBank NexG PrePaid MasterCard
- RM3,000 Wella Professionals hamper
- RM1,000 worth of Escada fragrances
- RM1,000 worth of Bebe apparel (damn)
- RM500 worth in Nose footwear
- featured in NewMan cover spread

That’s quite a lot man. Especially the car..!

Everytime Hanis came walking out, the cheers were distinctively louder.
“Wow, they really like her, huh?” said Rudy
“Yeah!”

Malaysian Dreamgirl Finals
KennySia, me, RowdyRudy

When Elaine Daly (who emceed) asked who’s supporting Cindy, there weren’t many cheers.
She joked, “Where’s Cindy’s family?”
When she asked who’s supporting Adeline, there weren’t many cheers as well.
When she asked who’s supporting Hanis, you guessed that right, the cheers just went crazy.

The third runner up was to be announced first.

And Hanis’ name got called.

You could feel the shock of the crowd as people went, “Huh? What? Yay! Hanis’ name! Eh, no la, that was third runner up! OMG. HANIS didn’t win!”

“Oh no, look at her… she so thought she’s gonna win…”
“Well, yeah… everyone wanted her to win…”

But i must say, she’s really brave for not crying.
I think if it were me, i’d have bawled like hai on the stage already.

As Hanis got her picture taken for 3rd runner up, the crowd clapped and her supporters still cheered her on, which was really sweet.

Adeline, won 2nd runner up.
And Cindy, won Malaysian Dreamgirl.

You can tell by the way i’m typing i’m so not semangat already right.
-_-

So, behind-the-scenes news (this was told to me by someone involved in the show) was that because this was purely an SMS-voting competition, Cindy’s family threw down 15k worth in votes.

When you think of it, 15k is pretty damn value for a car, RM10k cash back in return, all those other prizes, and buying your daughter’s happiness for her to win the competition.

Another little bird told me that in the week that Ringo was up against Cindy to be voted out, Ringo’s mom and bro SMSed RM4,000 worth… and Ringo STILL lost.

Can you imagine how much money Cindy’s family has been chucking in then?

Man, the Malaysian Dreamgirl show sure made a lot of money from this system.

I feel sorry for Hanis but i thought she’s really brave for putting up a smile (probably till she reached backstage).

After the announcement, i was like, “BAH. Let’s go,” and we went to have some merlot at Cribs.

We were talking about it for a while and i was like, “Eh! We should get her number and send her an sms to make her feel better!”
So i got her number from KennySia and we smsed - “KinkyBlueFairy and Rudy from Hitz.fm would like to say we totally support you and what a travesty the outcome was. Don’t cry k, you’ll go far girl. Kisses.”

What i think is, look at it this way - you’re 17, you got on a national reality TV show, you won some money, managed to garner a huge following, you have so many supporters and hey, so what, you didn’t win.
But this is just the beginning for you. :xwinky:

I Have Become A Facebook Slut.

After having Facebook infiltrate meetings when it comes to marketing all sorts of things, i decided that, what the hell, i might as well just approve all the pending requests i have on my account to optimize the number of people we’re trying to reach via web.

The reason i don’t confirm requests is usually because:
1. They put some stupid picture and i cannot recognise them from their full name
2. If it’s someone i cannot remember then yes, i do feel bad about it, but it would really take too long to msg everyone asking how/where/through whom i met them
3. And if it’s someone i met for two seconds and they add me… then lagi i cannot remember cos my memory is so bad..!!!
4. It’s someone i don’t remember cos i really don’t know them.

I thought of staring another FB account up for Kinkybluefairy, but it’s seriously too much effort.
Taking care of mine and Mr Elephant’s is enough 0_o

I’m adding them all under limited profile view… cos i don’t fancy (almost) strangers looking at my shameless party pictures that my not-so-shameless friends keep on tagging.

-_-

If you’re under my limited profile view and are feeling slightly dissed cos we actually know each other, pls drop me a msg…

I’ve clicked away at 50 already.
Wish i could hire someone to click a mouse for me >.<

Still have this much to go.

...

I think i’ll spread them out over the course of the next few days… or week la yeah.

Thank God for Autosave

The weather’s been really horrid lately, alternating between storms and damn-hot-can-die.
Today when lightning struck, the electricity in the office went out.

Then everyone started screaming cos they didn’t save.

I was just trying to keep calm hoping upon hope that Wordpress autosaves. I know Blogger does but wasn’t sure bout Wordpress.

So i was thinking, “Cool… chill… keep calm first. Then go home and check. If benar-benar my post didn’t save then only start screaming.”

Vote For Hanis :D

Lots happened over the week and weekend. Some i’m going to keep private -_-
But overall i’m a happy camper!
I think lots of have to do with the abundance in shopping i did yesterday and today (i’m trying not to think about last weekend’s damage).
Another store in Bangsar put their branded wares on sale *gasp* and i got a MaxAzria top for 80% off.
Siao.
I’ll be writing about it on another blog… which if you’re smart you’d be able to find sendiri.
We’re just not making it superpublic yet.
Patience, my young padawan.

(Ugh. Looks like AdamPoserPan quotes haven’t rubbed off of me yet)

MSN-ed AdrianYap just now -

Oops.

Went for happy girlie lunch at Jarrod & Rawlins with DhanyaTheMonkel (okay her cartoon name is back to that), Aps and QueenKanch.
I saw a waiter walking past with ice cream and it was insanely hot today so i went, “Ooh! I want ice cream!”
When my order was being taken, i said, “Okay, i’d like a ginger ale, lamb and cranberry sausages… and ice cream!”
Waiter: You want ice cream with your sausages? What about a side dish?
Me: No… ice cream…
Waiter: What about salad or fries with your sausages..?
Me: I want ice cream.

Aps couldn’t stop laughing how i insisted on ordering sausages and ice cream, the waiter thought i was mad and i simply didn’t care. I WANTED ICE CREAM! He was quite layan, laughed a bit and got me what i wanted.

Sausages + Ice Cream Mmmm

RudyFairyFest present Cat Got Your Tongue

This is going to be a really quick post cos i’m absolutely knackered.

Cat Got Your Tongue #1 was a great success in the end!
Earlier in the day when SarChan asked me whether i was nervous, i replied, “… No! I’m excited!”

Only later when i was rushing to set up did i get a bit stressed out.
Question, how many people does it take to stick up streamers in a club?
Answer - three.
One (Rudy) to cut the sticky tape, one (Biresh) to hold the rolls while the last one (me) decides where to stick.

Biresh: Why so low? Stick higher la.
Me: I. Cannot. Reach la. -_-

The pool was super fun to set up and the staff at Mansion are AMAZING.
So helpful + friendly + happy happy to play with the stuff around too!

My colourful plastic balls from Hanoi were poured into the pool, along with eight rubber duckies we bought at random. Colourful windmills were stuck up, happy soft toy flowers with smiley faces were wound around the gate and console area, yellow smiley face balloons and others of diff shapes and sizes were blown up and scattered at random, we had Fan Yang bubbles around for ppl to try out. Everything was very happy clappy colourful!

Just a few quick pictures for a sneak peek before i post the rest up later this week.

Tianna working it.

Tianna working it at the mini basketball tournament.

RudyFairy

Party people! - me + the rudemeister
My happy dress is from Tres Chic in Bangsar btw

I could NOT stop playing with the spinner!
While dancing in the console, on the speakers, on the dance floor, around the club! Damn layan diri.

Fly baby fly!

Spinner + DJ Le Kelvin

Spinners rock the world.

Can you spot Laura the Llama (pinata) and new blue mushroom light?

ARGGGGGHHH!!!

Brian, whozzatkenotsee, Michelle, RowdyRudy

Almost everyone brought toys, some brought small toys (like bloody Kanch who turned up with… a finger puppet -_-), and the most sporting was Khailee who turned up with…

A GIANT TIGER that was bigger than most of us there.

Who\'s the biggest cat of them all...

His tiger (i forgot his name, Khailee, sorry!) was so popular, he went crowd surfing.

Big Cat Crowdsurfing.

CYGT baybeh

We’re very chuffed. I’m looking at these pictures thinking, “Who ARE these people?! i don’t remember their names… but it’s okay cos everyone had fun!!!”

Huge hugs and thanks to Azuan Azahar who took these great party shots for us.

Unfortunately, toys were actually kidnapped last night 0_o
Someone took my plush red mushroom that was at the sign in area, Johan’s little whale went missing and Lainie’s baby giraffe got stolen too…
She said damn celaka that ppl see it’s cute and they steal it.
:(

Quite wtf wei. But it’s okay… we learn not to take our toys for granted now!!!

Mr. Elephant is safe phew.
I think i’d end up freaking out if he got kidnapped!

Next time we’ll have Toy Police. And if you get caught with someone else’s toy, you’ll be banned from RudyFairyFest. FOREVER.

OMG. Fairy Festival!!!

Thanks to Sasha Peiwen for emailing me the link!

First Annual
World Fairy Festival
May 3 through 4, 2008

Fairies are nature’s angels who protect our air, water, land, plants, and animals. They are the angels who keep our planet green. The more people who believe in fairies, the more power they have to help our environment. Cultures who believe in fairies generally have better produce, more parks, and more respect for the environment.

Our goal with World Fairy Festival is to educate about the reality of fairies, and to learn from their important lessons:

1. Having fun and playing is vital to health and happiness. Fun is a necessity, not a luxury.
2. Respect for animals and our environment is paramount. Every person’s contributions count.
3. Fairies are God’s nature angels. They received a bad reputation from people who mistreated the environment, and who were afraid of the power that fairies have (and which they lend to people who respect the environment). This power is God-given, pure, and needed in our world right now to help our earth to heal

Around the globe on May 3 through 4, we’ll be holding Fairy Workshops, Play Days, and other fairy-related events, all hosted by certified Angel Therapy Practitioners® and Angel Intuitives™. Please keep checking to find a World Fairy Festival event near you, and plan to attend. You’ll be glad that you did!

We’ll send waves of healing energy to our Mother Earth during the festival, and ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to local environmental and children’s charities.

Check it out! There’ll be a Fairy Festival in KL too!
