Hennessy Artistry @ The Loft, AHR

I blogged about Hennessy Artistry being back for 2009 just two weeks ago
and managed to go for the event held at The Loft, Asian Heritage Row

The event was said to start at 9pm
And knowing how night events are, i thought i was early at 9:30pm
But there were already super long lines outside!

As i was calling Nick of Nuffnang, one of the Hennessy PR spotted me and brought me in

The entire outside area of The Loft was totally transformed!
There were red carpets, bright lights, disco balls, everything all glitzed up!

“Reveal the DJ in you through the art of mixing!”

The very cool-looking Music Mixing Experience Booth,
is a DJ Console in a miniature club environment

The disco balls and decor make it look like you could have own personal party in there

Here, guests could experiment with mixing music (you can even choose your genre to work with!)
and a female DJ would guide you
There was also a Video Mixing Experience Booth
where there was an elevated VJ Console with big screens in front and above
Just like the music booth, you could try mixing various visual effects
with the guide of a female VJ as well

In the media room, people were taking pictures with Starz Angels non-stop,
hence a picture of them with fans

Outside was the red carpet where cameras were a-flashing and Vanessa Chong (who was also emcee for the night) interviewed people for Hennessy Artistry

I went to kacau Irman aka VJ Spacebar who was doing the visuals for Hennessy Artistry that night

Surprisingly, despite being awfully tired that night,
I really did have a lot of fun and even twittered it

The crowd was absolutely taken aback when the Beatboxer went up on stage
Even friends and myself who are regulars at music events went ‘WOW’

I thought of blogging some pictures from events i went to last week
but felt like blogging these more instead – office pics :p

Don’t know why, maybe because i spend most of my life in the office
and it’s what depicts my day best >.<

Krispy Kreme has officially opened in KL @ Berjaya Times Square
and prior to that, they sent Freeform dozens of boxes of doughnuts
(Below is taken in afternoon, lots were gone into tummies already)

I was thinking ‘WAH so many doughnuts, confirm everyone can take back one box!’
You know what?
They all DISAPPEARED by next morning

Way too full

Was going to blog nicely but am WAY too full right now
And full = lazy
Managed to put away a bowl of asam laksa + roast lamb + roti jala + curry chicken + junk food within an hour at Ira’s 1st Birthday party (AndrewBNBC + Nat’s daughter)
SpankyCammy and i kept saying, “omg i’m so full” to each other
So full so full still can reach out and stuff our faces with junk food

The pants reminded me of the Commes des Garcon for H&M collection (which i didn’t really like) but funnily enough, i liked these pants cos the material was really soft and flowy. Plus the fact i didn’t have to pay a few hundred bucks for it. I paid RM2.50.

I still think a bathroom mat is important

So i’m dating someone who’s extremely OCD

The bath towel must always be hung evenly
Nothing must go on the bedroom floor
Toothpaste must be pressed from the end
Clothes have to be hung the moment they’re taken off
Everything must run according to plan and timed to the minute
Everything must be neat and clean 24/7

Anything unnecessary must be thrown out
Ironically, there isn’t even a dustbin (i kid you not) in the study room
Because a dustbin takes up space, he says

All paper and plastic is recycled
Cotton buds that i use for make up annoy him cos they can’t be recycled
So does a particular type of plastic
And styrofoam
Oh, i could go on
(But i’m not complaining
I find it endearing he wants to recycle everything)

You can only imagine his horror
every time he discovers something atrocious his girlfriend has done
Or rather, has not, cos i’m so disorganized

“Why is your car so messy!”
“It’s not that bad!”
He drags me to his car, “This, is what a car should look like.”
*pretends to look in car in interest*
“Ooh ah i see.”
“How can your car be so messy!”
“Seriously, you should see my friends’ cars. I have… stuff from events, and things. And no time to clear it :p”
He cleans my car for me.

“Why do you not have a smartag?” he asks as i pay cash at the toll
“I do… it doesn’t work, i don’t know why, battery or something.”
He fixes it for me.

That, and many more aside, i’ve also managed to fill his place up with a few things
Throwing his whole ‘minimalist’ approach out the window
I say ‘minimalist’ in inverted commas, “because it’s not minimalist!”
“Yes it is.”
“This is bare, not minimalist, you crazy OCD person.”

I want music, i need music, in the bedroom
So i asked to bring some over, “Can i bring my speakers?”
“Okay, are they big?”
“No, they’re quite small.”

I brought over a sub-woofer and two mini ones.
“Joyce what the fuck is that?!”
“My speakers…”

I further broke his rule of ‘nothing on the floor’
by demanding for bathroom mats after i fell down twice

Just the other day, i was brushing my teeth as i caught him tripping over one of them
“Stupid mat. You need it so you won’t fall down. And i’m the one falling down because of them!”
“But surely you’d rather you fall down than me right!”

After weeks of denial and self-medication, i went to the doctor yesterday and was told i have conjunctivitis

Two weeks ago TigerJoe sounded me for buying viscous eye gel to treat my dry sore eyes
“What are you doing? You shouldn’t be self-medicating!”
“I’m pretty sure this is what i need for my eye without going to the doctor…”
“Just GO TO THE DOCTOR.”

Going to the doctor obviously isn’t on my list of priorities :p
(ok so my list of priorities are fucked up)

Now i have to bear with all the people who were nagging me to go to the doctor for so long, like ClaudiaOnCrack

“I told you so! See! Should’ve listened to me!”

Woman, by listening to you all day, i start talking like an international high school kid and think “Efron” when someone talks about their friend “Zack”

ANYWAY
My doctor prescribed me some eye drops and… some viscous eye gel that looked veeeery familiar
It’s the one that i’ve been putting into my eyes ANYWAY!
Can’t wait to gloat about it to TigerJoe
Hmm but then he’d nag me back that it still didn’t help and i should have gone anyway so…
*harrumph*

Working from home is a nice change
Only difference is
I hear my neighbour yelling at her crying kids for not listening to their grandmother and doing their homework
Instead of
ClaudiaOnCrack talking about Miley Cyrus, or telling Adrian to look at her drawings she made while she was in his meeting

I got to do my coloured + white laundry (2 separate batches of course!)
After hanging my coloured batch, i realise my my, i really DO wear a lot of colours and patterns!

Hennessy Artistry Is Back For 2009!

True greatness in any art form is achieved when influences, cultures, ideas, styles and talents, are blended or mixed; and that is what Hennessy Artistry has been doing with its series of events.

Combining a mix of artistes from East and West -
from Asia and US, to Europe and Down Under,

I’ve blogged heaps about Hennessy Artistry on KBF before,
and the parties are back again with collaborations between artistes of different genres,

Starz Angels

Combining electro house rhythms and hip hop flows, the trio have been supported by a creative and rigorous web presence.
Responding to the needs of the public, they’ve been performing and gained the respect of industry professionals within a year.

Caprice
One of Malaysia’s rising youth icons, Caprice isn’t just an artist, but also an entrepreneur.
His love for music led him to learn the ropes of the industry up to setting up his own record label and production house!

Over the course of a few months, he recorded a few singles, shot 2 music videos, and released 2 songs that shot to #1 on Hitz.FM.

Having worked with Too Phat, Ruffedge, VE, Dayang Nurfaizah, Dr Fadzly, Winnie K, Point Blanc, and Pija (mentor); I’d be very surprised if you don’t find his name familiar at the very least.

2004: Joe Flizzow and Friends Concert @ MTV Party at Zouk; Astro Ria with Ruffedge; featured on one song on the Hyperkinetix album.

VJ Spacebar aka Irman

Irman’s creative output has been embraced by many in the local creative community and I’ve heard many things about him, before having the fortune of working with him last year.
If you didn’t know, Irman played a big part in the art direction of Tongue in Chic (before he got nicked by an ad agency)
He also has a pet project called Shoot Bang Bang.

Gaining momentum as a VJ and visual artist, his bold vector-based style has been seen in many events and parties in the Klang Valley for clients such as Puma, Hennessy, Pall Mall and many more.

Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us to go alongside Starz Angels and Caprice’s sounds!

Not to mention with the presence of copious amounts of Hennessy VSOP, a blend of taste that can be enjoyed with water, soda, ginger ale, apple juice, or just by itself on the rocks.

Me, i’m loving Hennessy with ginger ale :xwinky:
