I feel so productive this Saturday!
Woke up at 11am, went to Baci to pick out some things *hugs shopping*
Went to the bank
Then to tapau lunch to eat at home
So i can do my laundry (have done two loads!)
Blogging now
Then will go to Megamall to pick up some more things from Art Friend in Gardens
Buy a present
Visit MaintainMing working there
And CherubicCho’s birthday dinner at 7pm
Yes yes *nods*
Not a bad Saturday at all!
Okay, so maybe new shoes and clothes put me into a terrific mood as well
And doing laundry
(i don’t know why, doing laundry makes me happy)
I haven’t been into Baci for quite some time cos i’m avoiding ALL shops to refrain from shopping
And they’ve got lots of new shoes in store!
(Samantha said i’m a bit late cos there were more earlier -_-)
But ANYWAY
Here are some pics

Oversized studded bag, RM139
Lace-up shoes, RM139

Studded gladiators, RM89

Caged heels, RM139

Lace-up gladiators, RM89

MORE SHOES

Their accessories are placed in wee boxes in the wall now.

And this is what i got

Caged heels, RM139; grey suede shoes, RM59; brown lace-up glads, RM89
I got some clothes too, but you’ll prollie see them on my Daily Dress posts in time
And i saw a brooch i just couldn’t resist getting…

Mushroom brooch, RM19
Because you KNOW what it reminds me off!
Daddy saw me unpacking my new shoes and putting the boxes aside to recycle
“What?! More SHOES?!” he exclaimed (in faux shock, cos i don’t think he’s shocked anymore at my shoe collection…)
He picked up the caged heels.
“What are these? 5 inches? You’re going to kill yourself on these one day.”
I sniffed and retorted they’re merely 4 inches so it’s not so bad.
Really.

True greatness in any art form is achieved
when influences, cultures, ideas, styles and talents, are blended or mixed;
and that is what Hennessy Artistry has been doing with its series of events.
Combining a mix of artistes from East and West -
from Asia and US, to Europe and Down Under,
Hennessy Artistry‘s goal is to bring artistes of the world to one big party!
They’re really going at it too.
Having just thrown a bash at The Loft AHR barely two months ago,
Hennessy Artistry is back with yet another event in a few weeks time!
Featuring:
Young 6IXX
DJ Yasmin
Lapsap
VJ Spacebar
Hennessy Artistry Club Series
Date: 4th June, 2009 (Thursday)
Time: 9pm – 3am
Venue: Phuture @ Zouk, Jalan Ampang, KL

Young 6IXX
Hailing from Riverside, California is 26-year-old Danny Johnson aka Young 6IXX
A rapper, songwriter and producer; he’s currently based in Germany (working with well-known producers and DJs there)
He has performed alongside other names you may be more familiar with, like Lil’ Jon, Fatman Scoop, and the Ying Yang Twins.

His name 6IXX represents 6 rules he has in his life —
1. take control
2. concentrate on the end result
3. always be your biggest fan
4. take challenges outside the box
5. have fun
6. ?
I wonder what his 6th one is.

Check out his video called Devil In A Dress:

Extra tidbit: He was in the Armed Forces for four years. Yummeh.
For mor on Young 6IXX, check out www.myspace.com/youngsixx or his interview with Juice.
DJ Yasmin
Hot hot hot
From crazy party city Jakarta comes this lass who has been spinning since the age of 19
Yasmin’s style is a mixture of everything from progressive, techno and tribal, to breakbeats and trance
She does, however, prefer house

Constantly developing her skills on the decks,
Yasmin has been spinning in clubs all over Indonesia including Embassy and Embrio (to name but a few)

Lapsap
I don’t think Lapsap needs any introduction here on my blog, but here goes!
Starting their private party nights in Palate Palette two years ago,
Lapsap fast became a phenomenon and brand in itself.
Garnering a giant following in the months to come,
they brought their music to clubs and events all over KL
and even played at crazy parties in Bangkok and Jakarta.
What i love is that the parties they started also became a platform
for colourful fashion not only to be accepted, but embraced

Mr. Phuah aka Ah Xu, and 5 feet aka Blink
VJ Spacebar aka Irman

Irman’s creative output has been embraced by many in the local creative community
and I’ve heard many things about how he went against the grain in the local design industry before i actually met him.
To have visuals in his hands is to be sure you’ll be expecting some of the best VJ-ing in town.
Irman also played a big part in the art direction of Tongue in Chic and has a pet project called Shoot Bang Bang.
No doubt 4th of June is gonna be one hell of a big night out for KL!
I’m planning how i will be really good and not drink or party a few days in advance!

I happily wore my new fluoro pink Topshop sandals (only RM56!) to work yesterday
and was standing in the pantry
when i heard ClaudiaOnCrack walk past me and start laughing loudly
We both unknowingly bought the same sandals and wore them to work on the same day

SpankyCammy finished work at 11pm last night
(just for the time being, she’s working weekends as well)
and i went to have a glass of wine with her
and brought a tube of glitter in tow to cheer her up

Was pottering about Art Friend (LOVE THAT SHOP) in Gardens yesterday
and bought a lot of happy colourful crafty stuff
We sprinkled the glitter on the bar at Somo
and played with it while catching up and sipping wine

We didn’t want to waste the glitter
so we gathered it together at the end of the night to put back into the tube
(yeah, kiamsap a bit)

I then told SpankyCammy, wouldn’t it be brill
if i brought a tube of glitter around with me everywhere i went
cos sprinkling some on the table just makes everything looks so sparkly and happy!
Yes i think i shall do just that.
And i will pretend it’s the most normal thing in the world when people give me strange looks.

I gave a talk at Taylor’s College on Tuesday,
and was asked to talk about Tongue in Chic, before leading into Fashion and Confidence.
In the end, i got more questions about work life and progression,
So i think i should have spoken on that instead!
I bumped into Aniza, whom i used to be in the same class with in secondary school.
And i think i must have conveniently forgot how long ago that was
but was reminded when she said, “You know, that was like, ten years ago.”
In my head, i was thinking “No way!”
Then realised that i took my SPM in 2000
And that it *is* 2009 now
So it has been 9 years
Which is close to 10 years at any rate
0_o
Damn
When i was school, i’d look far off into the future
and think to myself that when i’m 26,
I’ll probably be married with a car and house.
I just have the car.
-_-
This is what happens when you watch too much TV.
If anyone so much as speaks my name with the word ‘marriage’ in the same sentence,
i immediately shoot them a ‘you have to be kidding me’ look.
I honestly doubt that i will be getting married any time soon.
My term of soon meaning 5 years.
In college, AishozCravesCoffee and i wrote notes
(cos we couldn’t chat in class ha ha)
and in one of them, we were talking about how old we’d be when we get married
I found the note end of last year and we had a good time laughing over it.
It went along the lines of -
Aishah: 24
Me: Wah, no way, i think i’ll get married at 30. Or older
I think our predictions weren’t too far off,
with Aishah getting hitched 2 weeks ago.
And me nowhere near thinking about it.
If you asked me where i would be in 10 years time,
i honestly wouldn’t know -
what i’d be doing and where i’ll be.
I’ve always been the go-with-the-flow
never think, never plan
just jump, just GO kinda person
And so far, i’ve been very blessed that i have a lot going for me.
But isn’t it always like that?
When you have enough, it’s never enough.
You always want MORE.
Do more,
see more,
earn more,
experience more,
be more.
Or is it just me?
I always want more.
*pauses and rereads above*
Wow where did that come from.
I started talking about a speech i was giving and ended up emoing about life.
-_-
And i’m completely sober.

i couldn’t think of a title so i just make up a word
am quite awake and catching up on work that i didn’t do in the afternoon
cos i had some insane stomachache and almost blacked out
luckily managed to drive home -_-
gonna wash my hair and continue work
so here’s a pic, before i blog later

took it on the way back from Central Market last weekend,
when i went there for Art For Grabs with TigerJoe.
he tried slowing down the car for me to take a picture,
exclaiming he’s trying best he could.
“Oh, i know you are, don’t worry, i try taking pictures of the sky while i’m driving all the time too.”
“0_- *prepares to start nagging*”
Later that night, i looked up to see a pretty bright night
of whispery clouds and screaming moon

Beef Galore
I love eating beef parts, especially that in clear soup
MmmmMmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
TigerJoe brought me back to the one on Petaling Street

There’s nothing that makes me more satisfied than chowing down
on yummy Chinese food
on a weekend afternoon

Hidden in the cap below is artist Munkao.
I just met him that day at Art For Grabs.
He’ll be having an exhibition at Central Market till Sunday.

I wish leaf bugs lived in my garden
Downstairs, i saw a shop selling insects impaled (it’s true, they’re impaled! tho the pins are tiny, but STILL! IMPALED I SAY) and framed.
Not a fan of that.
Though i like looking at the insects and butterflies, i would never buy them.
Hmph.
Anyway, saw this leaf insect and got rather excited
“Leaf bug!” i yelped and tugged at TigerJoe, “Remember? From Horton Hears A Who? Leaf bug!!!”

I love Horton Hears A Who
One of my most favourite cartoon movies EVA
Bumped into Justin while buying lunch
so went to his workshop to sibuk and say hi

I’m loving these new necklaces he’s made
Just made one of them that morning too!
He made me a special one for my birthday that i’ve been wearing heaps

Across his place is the flower shop
And i thought i’d buy Mummy a bouquet for Mother’s Day

There’s something about having lots of colours laid out in rows
that gets me all HAPPY and want to have them ALL in my room
if it weren’t such a ridiculous idea of waste – that i just wanted to look and never use them

The Burrow that was on the Top Floor
Last week i dragged PassedOutBen to check out this sneaker shop in Subang called MNEP The Burrow
It may be called the Burrow but it was on the top floor above Starbucks across Metropolitan college

There was a lot of Supreme stuff for guys, some cheaper stuff for guys and girls, and a bar.

Walked out with a checkered jacket, graphic T and a CD (damn i wanna link it but i left it in the car) that’s quite emo and i like emo songs to pout to when i’m alone sometimes
Snapped a picture of PassedOutBen.
I swear he looks like he’s saying:

I was flipping
thru the newspapers this week
(which is rare
cos i hate reading the newspapers
just sometimes i feel i should in case of anything
my aren’t i blabbing when it’s late at night)
when i saw a picture and thought, “hey that looks like me…”
And it was me
It was an article on Jimmy Lim

This is what you call tumpang glamour.
