Ferragamo show / Kent launches Nanotek / KLue Blue Chilli Award 2009

On Friday night i dropped by the Ferragamo show @ Pavilion

Observations:
- Kee Hua Chee (SarChan’s BFF) had to sign in his name using 3 lines worth of space. Figures -_-
- out of all the male models, only one was being ogled at by us
- one female model slipped and fell, arising shouts in the crowd
- bubbly didn’t seem to run out

I stared at a really sexy dress, wondering how many months i would have to save for it.
Or go without alcohol for.
Or forgo my car payments and use the dress’ sex appeal to hitch rides/sell myself.
And decided i’d rather not have the dress thank you very much.

Elaine emceed and i wanted a pic of me and her in that beautiful dress
Marcus a bit fail cos he didn’t get our feet in the picture (and WHY do i look fat there!? ISH)

Then i went to Maison for the Kent Nanotek launch

Jin Hackman won the KLue Blue Chilli Award for 2009
The prizes are quite cemerlang:

AdamPoserPan and i happened to be on the phone when i was on the way to KLCC
asked him whether he wanted to pop by and he did

I had a horrible stomachache on Thurs morning
and only went to work around noon
but was up at 8am cos of the pain
so had heaps of time to get ready

I wore the below and thought
“damn, wear so nice for what… not going to event today even…”
but ended up temaning MilcahG for a show Daniel came down from Singapore to do
so it worked out in the end!

I went home early to do some work
and got Daddy to snap me for the first time
He was making me laugh and i snorted, “Stop making me laugh! It’s not cool in the picture!”
But decided to put it up anyway
Cos natural laughing pictures of me are kinda rare

To be truthful, i was very disappointed by oneandahalf
i bought 4 items from there including this draped blazer and zip jacket
but it came looking nothing like in the pictures
no 1 – the quality was damn bad, the stitching was obvious and material was cheap
no 2 – i ordered a size S and i swear it came like a size L
but because the workmanship itself is so crap, i didn’t think it was worth my effort nor reputation trying to sell it off
so i merely chucked in into the storeroom.

What a waste of money.

I also bought this which is shown like a jumpsuit
when it arrived manatau i actually bought a lowcut dress that was tucked into a jumpsuit
plus it wasn’t stated as dress in the order form
Weird la

Even with the tasseled top i’m wearing, the armholes are way too big
hence the need for a sports bra to save my decency when wearing it.

Hmph, beef.

SarChan and i threw in a lot of new songs we like but haven’t played before
i opted for some from Tiga, Metric, Boy in Static, Kleerup and Regina Spektor’s new album
i don’t know the ones SarChan threw in yet, but i DO remember this ONE SONG WHICH I LOVE AND IS GOING ON MY BALI PLAYLIST!

I have such a different image in my head when i listen to the song – sun, beach, dancing around with spinner, laughing
So a bike… is ruining it for me

Each of the 3 events feature art + fashion installations by the respective boutiques.
1st one was by Replacement last week, 2nd one was MNEP yesterday,
and 3rd one is at sevendays next Wednesday

Anyway  i was nicely eating curry Maggi Mee
while watching Disney’s The Lion King
when i felt something brushing against my  leg

I say ‘brushing’
cos it did feel like a piece of paper
or some insignificant object flying against my calf

When i looked down (after pausing the cartoon of course)
i saw a cockroach crawling on my leg

GodDAMN, i thought
disturbing my Lion King!, as i brushed it off and went to the bathroom to get tissue
“Your stupid cockroach came back!” i yelled to the man
“What?”
“I said, your stupid cockroach is back and i’m killing it!” i repeated while swiping tissue from the toilet.

Back in the room, i swiped it up,
SQUASHED it (MWAHAHA) and threw it into the toilet bowl

“What did you do??” he asked
“What you mean? I killed it la.”
“HOW?”
“-_- i squashed it -_-”
*incredulous”

I was quite impressed when the brand made its way to kl
and went to pick out something from their sales selection yesterday morning at 1U

Many of their leather bags and shoes are at currently at half price off

I got this pair 

Then i went to Qube @ Plaza Damas to let MilcahG revive my hair
Cos it was getting kinda long
and it was starting to bore me dreadfully

“What colour do you want?” she asked
“I don’t know, anything, what do you think?”
“Let’s try orange.”
“Okay!”

And that was that.
The way we negotiate about my hairstyle-to-be is extremely easy cos i trust her so much!

While the dye sat on my hair, we went upstairs to Qube cafe (which is part of the salon)
and i love love love
cos it’s home-cooked Chinese food

The auntie there is so friendly, you feel she’s your blood auntie cooking for you!

I finished later than i thought
And instead of meeting AshleyTheMonkey + QueenKanch,
went to the Warehaus Sale organised by Threadszoo @ Mist, Bangsar

I feel i did quite a bit on Saturday
The night before (Friday), i left office at around 10pm and couldn’t decide where to go
I was quite tired
I didn’t feel like going somewhere with booming music around me
I could do with a drink, but wanted somewhere near my house
Yet, i didn’t want to meet up with someone i wasn’t close to
Cos i really didn’t feel like making the effort to talk talk talk right then

I decided to spend time with someone important i’ve been neglecting…

Me.

I simply went home, pottered about in my room, and watched 4 episodes of Skins Season 2
And after all that, i went to sleep feeling quite happy

Everyone has this perception that Joyce is always out out out
That’s because when you see me, obviously i’m out at where you are -_-

I figure i’m in this phase where i don’t feel like going to everything and everywhere anymore
Clubbing here has started to bore me
It’s always the same music, same people, same places
So my friends and i started avoiding clubbing for a bit

We’re suddenly more into board games, quiet nights out, drinking a few drinks but not getting wasted

I was reading this post that 4’9″Audrey wrote about adult talk
and started laughing cos i get her

I don’t know why, but i seem to have found myself at a sudden loss of doing adult talk
(and i think i used to be very good at doing it!)
I have started to detest pointless chit chat
And am so sick of answering to the question – “How are you?”
(i know it’s just polite of everyone to ask, me included!, but bear with me here)

I really think i’m at a loss for storytelling like how i used to
and i was thinking to myself WHY?
I feel very disconnected from the people around me nowadays
It’s nobody’s fault, and nobody means for this to happen
It just happens and i’m trying to put my finger as to WHY

Why am i more quiet then i used to be?
Why am i not laughing as much as i used to?
Why do i feel so disconnected from everything around me?

TigerJoe has noticed this about me, i think
He recently mentioned that i’m not ‘all there’
And i totally understood what he meant

I’m talking, going out, working, socialising
But a part of my spirit seems to have taken a holiday

And i don’t know where it’s gone.
