But i was thinking i’ll start posting up vids soon (once i learn how to edit them slightly at least!)

Here’s one of me talking to RainbowGayDave about the Blackberry Curve 8520

Hi, my name is Joyce, and i’m a Mika fan.

mika we are golden

Everyone knows how much i ADORE Mika.

From the point i got his whole album on my iPod in ’07,
to buying the album because that’s how much i loved it.

RowdyRudy and i love Mika so much,
we played the Life In Cartoon Motion album on rotate in Bali.

We love Mika so much,
we spelt his name out with stones as well   :xshy:
The people who came in to clean the villa must have thought we were mad (which we probably are)

mika bali

We love Mika so much, the album inspired us to start Cat Got Your Tongue.

CYGT baybeh

“This is where we start our cult.
Our crazy cartoon-loving, toy-sharing, kiddy colourful world of insanity.
We’re talking Mika-loving in Bali.
We’re talking RudyFairyFest thrown down in Impiana.

Spinners rock the world.

I even posted Mika’s Happy Ending when i first blogged about CGYT.

So yes, you can see how much i heart Mika.
When Ally from Universal Music asked me whether i’d like to provide my readers with a free dl of one of Mika’s new songs,
i immediately said YES   :xlaughing:

The Styliste Launch

KL experienced a MASSIVE jam yesterday afternoon,
Gawd knows why, it was 3pm!
Neither lunch, nor rush hour time to break fast.

blackberry curve 8520

There is usually only one thing that i keep myself entertained with in a jam,
and that’s my music.
I always burn a few new albums onto a CD,
and get thru them one by one,
just to get a feel of the songs,
and single out the ones i really like.

Now, there’s *another* thing i can do in a standstill jam   :xlaughing:
Use my Blackberry Curve!
I surfed, and tweeted where i was.

blackberry curve 8520

‘Twas pretty cool that Rahul replied me using his own BB,
telling me that Sultan Ismail was jammed too.
So using the Blackberry helps me know where is jammed/to avoid too.
Useful!

Cebu (Day 2): Tourist Spots!

After checking into the Hilton Resort & Spa Cebu,
I must admit that the luxurious accomodation didn’t make me feel like i wanted to move to do anything,
but Cheesie convinced me otherwise.

After tearing my attention away from the comfortable bed/lounge chair/beach,
the rational part of me did think i should get the sight-seeing part over with,
so i wouldn’t regret not going to those places when i was back in Msia.

Besides, the whole point of going somewhere is to get in as much as one can
(which is why i tend to wake up extremely early on holidays,
but never seem to be able to do so on work days hmm)

We took a taxi and bargained with the driver (cos he didn’t want to charge us metre rate -_-)
about 600 Pesos (roughly RM45) to take us to a few spots at the same time.
Erm, i must say he was the grouchiest taxi driver we had – who seemingly wanted to help us, yet said he’ll charge extra if we stayed at each place for more than 10 minutes. So mean! :(

Anyway, first place on our list was Fort San Pedro.

Cebu Philippines

Located at the Pier Area in Cebu City,
it’s the oldest tri-bastion fort in the country
and was worked on since 1565.

Cebu Philippines

The military defence structure served as the nucleus
for the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines.

Cebu Philippines

The inside area is just over 2,000 sq metres.

Cebu Philippines

Over the centuries, it has served many different purposes including:
holding classrooms where Cebuanos received formal education,
serving as a fortification for Japanese soldies during World War II,
being an army camp during the battle for liberation,
till more recently,
being a zoo,
and housing the offices of the Tourism Dpt. till 1993.

After Fort San Pedro, we took a short drive to Magellan’s Cross on Magallanes Street

Cebu Philippines

Planted on that very spot by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521
(when he first landed in Cebu),
it is situated where the first Christian Filipinos and their Queen were baptized -
signifying the start of a strong Roman Catholic empire.

Just across Magellan’s Cross, is a small tunnel wihch led us to the Basilica of Santo Nino

Cebu Philippines

The Basilica was one of the first churches to be built in the Philippines
out of earth, nipah and wood in 1566.
In the 1700s, it was replaced with a church of hard stone,
and 200 years later,
was pronounced a minor basilica by Pope Paul VI.

Cebu Philippines

There were scores of short red candles in boxes,
where visitors were able to take for their own prayers.
Of course, there were discreet donation boxes below the burning altars.

These were all impressively carved out of stone.

Just so happened when we were there,
a huge mass was going on.
So huge that, the alter was placed at one end of the courtyard,
with people standing around it (oh, but it WAS raining so that must’ve been it)

Cebu Philippines

Outside the Basilica, people were selling flowers, food, candles, weaved products, and Catholic statues + rosaries.

Cebu Philippines

There are lots of children begging for money in Cebu,
but you just have to learn not to give money to them,
or else you’d get hounded by them all.
I didn’t want to give them money,
but i actually thought of buying them shoes. >.<

 Because it’d just showered,
the rain gave the roads a surreal sheen to it after.

After the hustle over there,
and me managing to bargain over a few rosaries,
we left for Ayala Mall where we could get a free shuttle service back to the hotel at 6pm.

We got pretty peckish again,
and went to try the lechon aka roasted pork everyone’s been asking us to try.

What did you dream about last night?

I met up with AshleyTheMonkey, QueenKanch and Nadia for a quick dinner just now
We simply spoke about weddings, funerals, crazy people, and… dreams.

Ash was telling us how she used to dream about a girl for months at a time
Like she knew her life, what she did, how she was student and how she thinks she lives in SS2.

Me: That is quite weird, how you dream about a same person you don’t know, for months.
Ash: Yeah man.
Me: Maybe she really exists and your energies connected but you just never met.
Kanch: Maybe she died and her spirit is trying to get into your dreams.
Ash + Me: What the fuck wei KANCH -_-

Then Nadia told us her dream about some talking puppet that was trying to tell her that her cat was trying to convey a message to her.

Ashley told them how i used to be able to control my dreams till i was about 10 years old.

I told them my dream last night: I dreamt that i was trying to keep these three baby monkeys in a box, but one would keep escaping. So it was damn tiring – catching one monkey, putting it back in the box and finding out another one had escaped. I spent the whole night chasing monkeys.

Since we’d all contributed to a ‘my dream’ story,
Kanch, of course, had to shoot a one-liner that made everyone stop in their tracks.

Kanch: I dream about making money :xlaughing:

Camwhoring Wherever, Whenever.

Ever since i started using the Blackberry Curve,
one of the most common questions ppl have been asking is,
“How’s the camera?”

And i thought since i’m blogging about Cebu these few days,
i’ll post up some pix that i took with the Blackberry Curve 8520.

The Curve 8520 comes with a 2.0 MP camera.

Not that i’m fussed about how high the MP is.
I’ve stressed in previous posts how i get annoyed
when ppl judge a camera’s capability from how large their picture can be.

Why??

Unless you plan to blow that picture big enough to cover your wall,
or you publish your photos,
you don’t NEED the MP to be so high.
If anything, it just takes up additional memory space.
Even with my compact digicam, i lower the size down to 1024 pixels wide,
because more likely than not, it’s just going to be used to upload on to my blog.
If anything, i’m more fussed about the picture quality and how the auto functions adjust to different lighting conditions.

Ok, rant over :p

Anyway, i thought i’ll share some pix i took with my Curve
(i still haven’t given it a name yet, suggestions? :p)
and they received no editing whatsover.
In fact, i’m even linking the Twitpic page where i uploaded them immediately
wherever i was at that time which i thought was pretty damn cool   :xlaughing:

So i all i do is snap a picture with the Curve,
upload it unto Twitpic using the internet browser
(can go online anywhere i am in the WORLD :xlaughing: )
and it’s available to anyone who’s following me on Twitter.

I know i still can’t forget this picture Niki Cheong twitpic-ed in Bali
-_- Made me want to cry.

But it’s okay.
I’m going to be back there in two weeks,
and i’ll make sure i’ll twitpic pictures of Bali sunsets too!

MWAHAHAHA
