A few weeks back, i google-mapped where Bombshelter Studios was,
drove through a heaving storm,
made my way up a creepy staircase,
and caught a preview of part of the TAG (aka Twilight Action Girl) team shooting their Heineken video.
I had 2 Heinekens and lots of pizza while waiting my turn alongside Lapsap, Goldfish, Timothy Tiah and Cynthia Ong.
Took some random pictures around the office as well
(they’ve got a really nice place!)
R2D2 mini fridge that’s bout 4 feet tall, i think.
I think this is my favourite pic of the day!
Rengee trying out Mickey Mouse gloves, so kiut!
I really liked this bench Bombshelter got made out of spoilt materiel of some kind (i can’t remember)
Something about them asking the factory ppl to try making this for them instead of throwing the paper (?) away
In collaboration with Festive Forest Project, Wild Asia and Bombshelter Studios;
a series of festive cards exclusive to this project is available FREE of charge.
EACH card allows you to plant one virtual tree on the Heineken page,
and in April 2010,
Heineken will plant actual trees in replace of your virtual ones in conjunction with Earth Day!
Not only that, but you stand a chance to win Heineken Festive Party Kits and other goodies as well!
Check out the video we shot for KinkyBlueFairy below:

Other things you can do for the environment this season:

- RECYCLE all the wrapping your pressies come in!
- RECYCLE all the cans + bottles you use when partying!
It’s already the month of December
and i’m still not over how the year kinda flew by…
It felt long (prollie cos i was so busy) and eventful (cos i think i did lots!)
but i also can’t wait to see what 2010 brings!
Before i jump the gun and go into New Year’s,
CHRISTMAS IS COMING
When it comes to Christmas presents (or any present for that matter),
i always say it should be something useful,
or something you know will benefit the person but it won’t be something they’d buy for themselves.
It’s an MP3-playing robot that lights up and moves according to the different beats of any song you play!
You can even edit its dance moves
Try YouTubing some of the vids for it to watch.
I already have portable speakers, but having this would be BEYOND AWESOME.
When i first saw this at DeliciousBenny’s apartment,
i was plotting how i could steal it without him knowing.
It’s SO trippy and gorgeous, it’s true what the YouTube vid description says about it – you have to see it for yourself!
It’s basically a machine that projects the universe unto your ceiling.
I love surfing Shopbop and a gift cert amounting to something like USD1k would be nice
Below are some items i would pick.
And i say ‘some’, because there are MANY!
Young Fabulous & Broke dress; LaROK studded skirt;
CC Skye fringe bag; Alex Wang leather bag.
I’ve heard time and again how SK-II is a product of necessity.
And i’ve not had a chance to try it save for some samples.
QueenKanch uses it, and so does Elaine Daly, and countless other female friends of mine.
Prollie men too, though none have publicly admitted vanity to that extent yet.
Pitera, the substance found in SK-II products, are the stuff of LEGEND.
Did you know:
Pitera was first discovered when they noticed how the hands of sake brewery workers were extraordinarily soft and youthful, despite their faces (due to being elderly) had pronounced wrinkles.
After a series of experiments, skincare scientists discovered the secret – Pitera – a clear, nutrient-rich liquid.
Pitera is known to
help adjust the skin’s rhythm,
replenish and retain moisture,
tone skin texture,
adjust pH levels,
control the generation of dark spots,
soothe sunburned skin
and helps control the secretion of sebum.
Interesting note: “In Japan, the masks are known as “a bride’s best friend”, because women apply them daily for three months prior to their wedding day to ensure dewy and translucent skin!” [Source: The Star]

I used to stay away from ‘whitening’ products cos i don’t see anything wrong with being tan, and abhore the message some give out that to be beautiful, you have to be fair.
What rubbish is that.
Then some time back, someone explained to me that ‘whitening’ products don’t all mean to make one fairer, but some are to smoothen out sun spots. And this is something i need cos i’m always out in the sun, and (sigh) have noticed that with age and fun in the sun, comes little sun spots that are gradually going to get bigger 0_0.

The SK-II Christmas coffrets are more affordable than my earlier wish items,
so even if you don’t get this as a pressie from a loved one (show them this post to HINT HINT HINT haha),
You can get it for yourself
Think of it as a pampering reward for a year of hard work!
“Best Music SelektahsSalahWrong
Sometimes it’s not about perfect mixing and it’s about track selection. Joyce Wong aka KinkyBlueFairy and Sarah Chan aka Sarchan don’t proclaim to be DJs but “song selektas” and crate dig through the indie, electro and pop with the attitude to match.”
“Best Way To Spend Your DoughChic Pop Calling all recessionista sisters, this is the year to budget shop. Chic Pop @ Zouk brought it with its bargain basement fashion finds, food, drink, music, good company and charitable spirit. We’re already saving up for the next one.”
Hannah Tan is organising this fantastic concert in conjunction with Christmas,
where people give presents (for underprivileged and HIV-infected children) instead of $ for tickets.
I know many of you may think that this is a publicity stunt etc.
But i MUST ADD that Hannah is one of the most genuine and loving people i’ve met.
She is truly one of those people i think are beautiful inside and out.
I swear i can just feel it just oozing out of her,
and she’s always such a comfort to be around.
So if you feel like giving a gift to a child this Christmas (but don’t know who to give to, plus all the children you know HAVE SO MUCH ALREADY!)
Do steer towards giving to this cause instead.
The artistes (incld. Harith Iskandar, Hans Isaac, Meet Uncle Hussein and many more)
are not doing this for any money in return
and just want to see this event a success.
Please do click to read how you can contribute to this.
Every little bit counts!
QueenKanch was away on a company trip last Friday,
and i thought i’d surprise her by getting a Christmas tree for the suite
seeing it’s December and all!
ClaudiaOnCrack’s mummy told me to go to Sampeng in Chinatown to get cheap Xmas deco,
so i traipsed there by myself via 2 trains, foot and a tuk tuk.
There were a few shops selling Christmas deco,
and i checked most of them out for the one with the best and cheapest stuff.
That’s diligence for you, haha.
Was tremendously drawn to a particular store with everything i was looking for at decent prices,
and it was super packed with people, obviously -_0
After i picked out a wee tree, i moved on to picking out lots of decorations for it.
Santas, reindeer, acorns, teddies.
I think i got carried away… cos i ended up with more deco than i needed.
So i decided to upgrade to a bigger tree to hold all the deco i wanted
After purchasing everything, i realised “WHAT HAVE I DONE”
cos i conveniently forgot that i’d have to lug everything back by myself.
Point to note: 5’3″ person should not lug back 4′ tree + bagful of decorations halfway across the city during peak hour.
After carrying the tree in all sorts of ways,
and stopping every now and then to rest,
i found out the best way to carry it was to HUG IT.
So there i was.
Hugging a huge box at the train station which was freaking crowded with people.
I don’t remember the last time i was in such a long human queue!
Even overhead someone saying they’ve never seen the BTS station so crowded before.
Great.
I choose a day and time to take the train
WHEN it’s so crowded
and WHEN i have so much stuff with me!
And you know what was more malang?
I had to queue up THREE times to get my train ticket!
I’d almost reached the end of the first line i was in, when the machine went out of order!
Everyone dispersed from it to quickly join other lines, as did i.
Then after queuing up in the 2nd line… the same thing happened again!
Kan tragic -_-
By the time i was in my 3rd queue, i was so tired and didn’t care if anyone thought strangely of me resting my face on the box.
Anyway, i finally got everything home and got really excited!
Since we have a tree, we’re planning to throw a Christmas party
Kanch: How many people are we inviting?
Me: I don’t know… how many people do we know in Bangkok?
To get you all in the Christmas mood like me(!)
here are some of my favourite Christmas songs
You don’t have to watch it, just listen!
Do They Know It’s Christmas for Band Aid, 1984
Performers: Bananarama, Bob Geldof, Culture Club, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Heaven 17, Human League, Kool and the Gang, Midge Urge, Paul McCartney, Paul Young, Phil Collins, Spandau Ballet, Status Quo, Sting, The Style Council, U2, Wham!
The song shot to #1 in Britian and US, and sold 50 million copies. [Source]
I had a brill nap by the pool,
and watched some really cute kids playing there.
I admit,
my biological clock suddenly decided to exist.
0_o
And my Cluckiness kicked in for a good 5 minutes,
before i went upstairs to cook myself noodles.
Fast forward two hours later,
i’m in the apartment with QueenKanch, and her friend Steph + 4yo daughter Dahlia.
Dahlia loved how kid-friendly i made the place.
Lion King was playing on TV, toys and colourful cloths were everywhere.
Fast forward 30 minutes later.
Dahlia has strewn all my sparkles all over the apartment while shouting “Hooray!”,
erased the message i wrote for Kanch on my Doodle Pad,
asked me to get out of the way to watch Lion King,
and mixed all my furry pom poms + toys together in some crazed concoction and spread them around on the floor and table.
I remembered my previous thought of having a child,
and went, “Maybe NOT.”
There’s space for only one kid in this apartment.
And that’s me.
I went to the Rimmel roadshow @ Mid Valley a couple of weeks back!
Taking up the centre court on the lower ground floor,
the Rimmel peeps decked up the area with lots of mirrors, make up stations,
a photo area, English telephone booths and more:
Some girlies i know were already there getting their makeover,
so i snapped pix of them for fun
I gawked “Are you serious?” at the photographer when he asked me to do some cheesy pose.
-_-
The Rimmel peeps edit pictures then and there for you
If you were at the Rimmel roadshow too,
remember to take part in their contest that requires you to play around with Polyvore + Rimmel + sevendays items!
I left with a box of Rimmel goodies -
make up, Union Jack clutch,
and lots of face mask and foot soak packs (which i’m gonna treat myself to in Bangkok!)
