Last Friday was a big night out for party people in KL.
Green Room took place at KL Live and featured a to-die-for lineup:
2ManyDjs / Soulwax;
Lapsap;
Twilight Actiongirl;
Agrikulture
and GXXX feat. Goldfish
But hey, instead of going on and on about, i’ll let the pictures do the talking 
Agrikulture was up after TAG,
and despite the perception of how earlier acts are usually more toned down,
they weren’t at all!
I had to make a CONSCIOUS effort not to dance so much
and save my energy for later!

Earlier on in the night, i bumped into DikHaHaHau
and he hung around for awhile before i purposely bugged him by saying:
“Where are you friends? Aren’t you gonna join them? You’re, like, cramping my style here.”
Cos he looks all corporate 
After he huffed and went off,
i went looking for him to make sure he’s still friends with me,
and bumped into heaps of people just by making my way across the dancefloor.

As i walked back towards the other group,
i had a fleeting sight of a very familiar choker…
and pretty much went up to a stranger and asked,
“Is that from Bimba & Lola?”
It was.
And we pretty much stood there yakking about B&L stuff ,
how i wanted to get the choker but got the shoes instead,
and how i have the blue shoes she had her eyes on!
She even exchanged necklaces for a picture, so kiut!

and have got very attached to them.
I’ve tons of pictures of ppl wearing them (cos i make them try it on)
If you’re wondering what makes them so *magic*,

i wasn’t that tipsy but SO over the moon at the song coming on,
that i climbed on to the railings and screamed myself hoarse.

One weekend, my Lovelies and i packed heaps of food, our swimmers,
and went to DarlingDhanya’s family house in Country Heights.
Just to spend time with each other,
eat our hearts out,
and have a belated birthday celebration for Dhanya and Cammy.
The house is very new,
with the pool looking like in Bali,
cos Dhanya gave design plans to make it look like that!
Imagine having Bali in your backyard… how awesome is that!
That afternoon, i was Tweeting about it *here* and *here*
Everyone knows i’ve been using my Blackberry incessantly,
and anyone who has one,
knows how much you love your Berry when fall asleep with it next to you, or in your hand.
Besides using it for all the stuff we already know about:
Tweet, check emails, Facebook updates and msgs,
i’d say my favourite features right now are the BBM
- (it’s like texting. But FREE) cos so many ppl i know have Blackberrys,
and i find it strange now to have to sms ppl (cos they don’t have BBs :p)
And how i can surf as much as i want.
I love how when i’m waiting for someone (or in the train like in BKK),
i can totally utilise my time to read up on articles in Time or my RSS feed.
At least i’m absorbing something instead of staring into thin air!
Since i got my Blackberry, i’ve been using Xpax‘s RM2.50 a day plan,
where i get unlimited access to all i need to do using my Blackberry.
Now, it just got better for me cos of a new promo they’re having
By subscribing to the BlackBerry® Advance (2.5G) for RM 2.50 per day plan,
i get free subscriptions on the weekends, after 5 consecutive weekdays of using the plan!
So that means for a week, i only pay RM12.50 for unlimited data use, including push email.
Which also equals to RM50 for 4 weeks.
Who said using a Blackberry is expensive now, huh?

The 5 of us polished off:
1 and a half Nando’s chickens,
5 packets of chicken rice + extra siew yoke and char siew,
a tray of brownies,
a chocolate cake,
2 large Pizza Hut pizzas,
Cornetto ice creams,
and lots of wine
SpankyCammy went cupping recently,
and emerged with horrible marks.
I spent the whole time calling her Ms. Blobby / a spotted crocodile.
StephTheVolcano always likes to do her own weird thing by herself.
Like stare up a wall.
Or submerge herself underwater face up. 
We’re totally in love with the fuzzy carpet.
Playing games in what Dhanya calls the TV room.
Personally, i’d call it the theater room 0_o
I was really naughty and wanted SO BADLY to write a particular word on SpankyCammy’s spot.
DarlingDhanya found a market and i immediately cornered Cammy to do it.
A day later she smsed me saying, “THE MARKER WON’T COME OFF!”
Sorry… (not really but i heartchu!)
The rest of the house:
Dhanya’s parents may sell the house (dunno yet) but quite sayang cos they all put in so much effort in building + decorating it.
(I hope they don’t cos i still want to go hang out there again haha.)

Last Thursday was a milestone in the learning curve for me
when i emceed the official Blackberry Bold 9700 and Storm2 9520 launch in KL.
When Simon + Eddy from Tempus first asked me to emcee it,
they said they didn’t want a personality who has emceed typically before.
I remembered what SmallSerena told me before about undercutting,
and therefore quoted them market price before proceeding.
A month after that, they said they could get a male emcee as well,
and were thinking of Rudy.
I replied that i couldn’t think of anyone else i’d rather emcee with!
They first told me the initial date for the event was Jan 12th,
and i wanted to strangle myself,
but maintained with a squeak instead.
Because.
Jan 12th was the night of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Singapore.
But i didn’t have to think twice that work like this was more important,
so i dismissed it.
Then in early Jan, the Blackberry date was confirmed for Jan 14th,
and i was like, “MANNNNNNNNNNNN!”
and tried ignoring ALL tweets saying how AMAZING the Yeahx3 was,
cos i couldn’t get tix anymore.
It’s okay.
Couldn’t be helped and i’ll just throw a Yeahx3 party for myself.
In my room.
Anyway i was totally okay the week before the event,
it was the DAY before that i started freaking out.
I’m trying to count how many times i’ve emceed before (sorta).
Okay i did some Junk one years ago with KinkyPugKevin,
i emceed FoxyLisa’s wedding (but i don’t think that counts!),
something at Attic…
did the opening for Styliste,
and… that’s it, i think!
I wrote a bit of the below last week:

Stress.
Stress balls till they drop off.

Am reading through the prompt sheet and imagining what would happen if i said the wrong word/name.
Imagination progressed into a scene of me blushing and stuttering on stage.
Oh god.
What was i thinking?
WHY did i take up this job?
Ok breathe.
The whole point was to try something new,
and i can’t be a scaredy cat and not try it.
Every other host you spoke to told you they were super nervous as well.
Till now.
That’s right, so it’s okay to feel nervous.
Just shut up and breathe.

Now i know why emcees are paid so much
It’s kinda like money for - “Don’t you dare fuck up!”

Then i didn’t write anymore cos i went to meet RowdyRudy for dinner,
and go over our parts to say.
“Are you nervous?”
“Yes. *flops on table*”
“Just pretend it’s like Cat Got Your Tongue! Come one… you’ve done this loads of times before!”
“Yeah, like Cat Got Your Tongue! *sits up brightly* … but it’s NOT. It’s for… *whispers*… Blackberry *flops again.”
He couldn’t say anything to that.

On the day of the event, we all met up in Neo at 12:30pm for a dry run (which didn’t happen)
and for the media launch which was at 3pm.
I was really bored with all that waiting around,
so took pictures (being the blogger-posing-as-emcee i am).
The media launch went well (minus one minor f-up from me >.<)
and i felt much better and ready for the evening event.
Went back to the hotel room they provided us to rest at.
I had 2 and a half hours to get make up done,
and RowdyRudy flat out refused to let me off the premises,
cos i initially planned to have it done by Milcah at her salon @ Plaza Damas.
The night before, i suddenly thought of MaintainMing
and asked him whether he’d help me do my make up.
He replied: “Of course. I want all my bitches to look good.”
and i almost cried with joy.
Yeah, i was so stressed okay. Got me superemo.
All the clothes i brought, cos couldn’t decide in morning what to wear for night event.
My amazing X-Mini speakers (from Machines @ Gardens)
SpankyCammy introduced it to me last year,
and it’s super loud!
Not to mention you charge it via USB cable so no batteries wasted/needed!
At the night event,
RowdyRudy and i were going over the prompt sheet just before starting,
and i’m sorry to everyone who came to say hi…
i really couldn’t talk to you then cos i was a ball of nerves all over again and wanted to remember what i was supposed to say on stage!

Every day i spend some time sitting by myself
and count all the good things that have been happening to me lately
all the good people in my life i have helping me
and somewhat reflect on what i am doing right,
and how i can prolong this or make it even better.
Actually, this is supposed to be a short note to say:
WAIT i’m blogging about the Blackberry launch right now!
But incidentally went into emo mode 0_o
Emceeing the Blackberry event was something new for me,
and i couldn’t have done it without the help of RowdyRudy.
I was just thinking how fortunate i am to try doing something that fell into my lap,
*and* have a friend who’s one of the best in the entertainment industry help me at the same time.

I’ve been meaning to blog about this new spa for awhile,
and am finally gonna share it!
I. Am. A. Massage. Freak.
I don’t know how to give a good one,
but hell do i know the difference between a good and bad one when i receive it.
SpankyCammy has been awfully busy most of 2009,
preparing a new spa in KL + Melb. to cater for younger corporates,
with services that come at a cheaper price than its sister counterpart.
You know like how Signature in Gardens caters to an audience that wants a cinema with more class,
but not as overpriced as Gold Class?
Yeah, that’s how i see Pure Energy.
Not as expensive as the 5-star spas (those are saved for superspecial occasions),
not as ciplak as all the RM50-per-hour spas you see everywhere (where i feel it’s a hit and miss at times)
but in the middle,
for people who are willing to pay slightly more,
for treatments on par with 5-star spas.
I went for the soft launch of her spa,
and looked on in immense interest,
only because i’ve been hearing every detail of her work since she started on the project (with Jia Wei designing it).
They did everything from scratch,
from the custom-made furniture,
to sourcing and training staff,
products, robes, glasses, etc!
Sorry, i’m going on and on about it cos i’ve seen how hard she’s been working all year,
till 11pm, weekends, and ’twas SO HARD to get her to come to Bali with us!
Anyway, back to the spa
Pure Energy is supposed to be for those who are high on stress
(or those who want pampering like me!), and low on time.

There’s a wee swing table for your laptop + free WIFI,
so you can surf/work and have a hot drink while getting a massage at the same time!

SpankyCammy showed me all these pictures of animals on the walls of the spa,
as Pure Energy partners with PAWS by donating a percentage of their turnover to the animal shelter.
Anyway, to support and try its services,
i went back before Christmas to get a much-needed facial and massage.
After my treatment, i smsed SpankyCammy:
“You sneaky bitch. How am i going to go to ANY OTHER place for massage now!? I hate you.”
Cos it was just so. damn. good.
She merely replied with “hee hee hee”
I commented it on my blogpost *here* but failed to mention which spa it was, oops!

RowdyRudy asked me to teman him pick a suit,
and i readily agreed to play freelance consultant.
I Qweeted where to get men’s suits in KL,
and got some answers like:
Massimo Dutti, Club Monaco, Ted Baker, Zara, Topshop, Hugo Boss, etc.
We happened to be next to Topshop first, so we went in.
I bit my lip and steadied myself not to be distracted by women’s clothing,
and to stick to the plot

At the men’s section, RR’s eyes went wide.
“I am NOT wearing that. That is so gay.”
“Can you just wait and not shoot everything down?” i laughed.
In another store:
“That looks stupid. Are you SURE you want me to wear that?!”
“Look, *i* don’t want to be on stage with someone who doesn’t look good ok trust me!”
5 stores, some changing room action and a lot of swearing later,
he got his suit,
and i…
managed to pick up a few winter items to wear in Spain next week.
I know, i know right,
i am going to borrow some coats from fairy-sized friends like Aps and Ashley,
but an enthusiastic conversation ensued in Zara.
“…The coats in Zara are on sale!”
“And those are SO you.”
“Exactly, think of all the fun layering you can do with them.”
“And you’d look great in pictures!”
“Look, it’s warm knit. So it’s gonna keep you warm and not just a fashion statement.”
“Yeah!”
“I can think of a few ways to wear this with existing items I have already…”
“Should SO get it.”
“But i’m only going for 10 days…”
“So what? You’re definitely going back to Europe this year right? You said you were going to travel more?”
“That’s true.”
“So you see. It’s an INVESTMENT.”
“So. True.”
So i bought 2 coats (RM199 each!) and a thick long-sleeved knit thing for RM100.
Okay right!
The voices in my head always help me make monumental decisions
Later on i was asked whether i’m excited bout going to Barcelona and Madrid.
“Yeah! I get to play around with layering clothes!”
“… are you serious?? -_-”
I can’t believe my joke can be mistaken for real
Oh and these are studded gloves and a knit beanie, with gold lining underneath, i got from Topshop last week.
