I’ve been really busy the past 2 months with meetings,
and i can’t write about any of it here.
Cos if it involves ad agencies, everything’s P&C.
If it’s to do with my own side projects, it’s P&C too (though we’ll be letting one cat out of the bag next week)
Stuff that made me laugh this week! >
One of my gfs found a pile of chick’s clothes in her bf’s place,
which obviously belonged to his ex.
“You didn’t say anything to him, did you?” “No, no need to. Everyone’s got their past.” “Of course, good.” “Although one thing really bothers me…”
“Huh, what?” “The clothes that i found, they’re really out man. I think i’m more bothered he actually went out with a girl that dressed like that.” “HAHAHA!”
+ + +
“Keep striving for happiness, everything else will fall in place.” “That is true.”
“Of everyone i know, you do happiness-striving the best, so no need to panic lah. Just keep doing whatchu doing.” “Sometimes i think there must be something wrong with me cos when everything is going right, i start to panic.”
“You mean you’re a woman?” “LOL”

John Lim.
Ex-editor of KLue. Currently at The Edge.
Helped me take my vain shot.
And this… is absolutely random.
I’m posting it just cos i look nice in it (OR SO I THINK)
And it reminds me of the fuckingfantabulous time ClaudiaOnCrack and MingDaBomb and i had in Jakarta
I miss dressing up all out!
And being totally unaware of one’s surroundings and what other ppl think of you!
I miss hanging out with Cloudeeya (even tho, okay i just saw her last week but it doesn’t count cos i barely see her, really)
But i will be pacified.
Because this Thursday, i will be spending a blissful 5 days in Krabi with Clouds, SarChan and SueOkToAlcoAnn!
I’ve gone thru my fair share of piercing phases.
First was in school when it was like, so cool, and shit *flips hair*
Wah, feel like slapping myself writing that.
Anyway in school i had 6 or 7 per ear,
and 2 navel piercings (probably because i was a maximalist from young and one just wasn’t enough)
Took them all out during college years.
Then i had got my industrial done 3 years ago (can’t believe i found the post, i love my blog! haha)
and a simple one on top of my other ear which i consider my only souvenir from Madrid.
And today i was actually considering taking them both off!
Only because Clem keeps on bumping into it,
and it really hurts/bothers me,
tho he prollie thinks i’m just being drama when i yelp
(but i know you’re reading this so i’m TELLING you it actually hurts okay!
At the point of considering taking them off while staring into the back garden,
i found myself thinking -
have i become one of those older friends i talk to,
who tell me they take off their piercings when they got older,
because they just got in the way,
and there wasn’t a point in keeping them anymore?
One part of me is aghast that i *understand* their former predicament.
The other (childish) part of me is screaming NO,
and WANTING to hold on to the piercings because i still very much like how they look on me and go with my clothes.
Goddamn this growing up thing. I don’t wanna grow up! Can’t you tell?!
However, it really is a battle of Piercings vs Uninterrupted Cuddling.
We’ll see.

Random Snappies because i’m like that.
Went to the Zee Avi showcase presented by AirAsia @ KL Live 2 weekends ago.
Thanks to the people at Universal for helping me buy tix!
I’m quite useless and only took 4 pix
You can see more pix on Amanda’s post *here*

Was invited for dinner at SmallSerena’s.
Mathieu cooked again.
His father is a chef so the boy got some skillz. (i swear the ‘skillz’ thing is influenced by DidiBuli -_-)
I guess it was a kinda double date thing (in a hopefully non-cheesy way)
cos both Serena and i are dating French guys who both work in the same company 0_-
See the city skylights in the background!
We had fish (Mathieu’s dad caught) in some awesome sauce + potatoes + salad + bubbly + wine
I tried polishing off as much as i could,
but admittedly had to leave a few pieces of potato (or subtly drop them onto Clem’s plate
This be the chef
Dessert was flambé bananas + rum n raisin ice cream.
We played chor tai ti after dinner,
and ’twas quite funny seeing French men get emo over winning a Chinese card game
Choosing a place for late breakfast is always an exciting prospect for me on the weekends.
You can wake up as late as you want.
You don’t have to rush.
And you can relish every bite you take in,
while slowly curing the half-hangover from the night before.
I always feel like different things when i wake up (it’s actually the one thing that makes me get out of bed EVERY day)
I call them my Morning Cravings.
They’re always the same stuff tho -
yong tau foo / curry laksa / hash browns
bacon / pork noodles at Lucky Gardens
something soupy like koay teow noodle soup (for SuperHangover days :p)
We had Western brekkies yesterday and today
because Clem says a proper breakfast is eggs + sausages + toast
And not something heavy like curry and rice.
*sad face*
Anyway, i layan la.
Took him to The Pink Sage at Solaris Dutamas yesterday.
It’s much bigger than their previous outlet at Capsquare,
and their food is SO good and worth every penny!
I had a Greasy Breakfast of
streaky beef brisket + corned beef (LOVE) + grilled tomatoes + hash browns
for around RM15
Plus my vanilla milkshake made of Haagen Daz ice cream was RM13 (So. Damn. Good.)
Clem went for the Big Breakfast of
eggs + toast + mushrooms + cheese + sausages + streaky beef brisket + pancakes + syrup + fruits
for around RM35
Fresh orange juice + 2 extra Add Ons of cheese (RM3 each)
Damn a lot of food man.
I said i was full,
but every time he dangled a piece of pancake + syrup on a fork in front of my mouth,
i’d automatically lean forward and gulp it
even tho my stomach was going “nooooooooooo”
My Greasy Breakfast + Clem’s Big Breakfast
Today i took him to Delicious at BVII for breakfast.
I always order the same thing when i go there -
hash browns + avocado + smoked salmon + sauteed mushrooms
for around RM27 (yeah, a bit ex depending on what you want)
Lemongrass + lychee drink (RM10)
Clem went for a big plate of stuff i can’t remember.
We just remember how the toast alone cost RM7
and he couldn’t fathom how two pieces of bread with butter could cost RM7.
(Neither can i, really.)
As always, he ordered 2 extra side orders of cheese. (i’m starting to memorize how much extra cheese costs in F&B places across KL now :p)
and the dish came with… 2 slices of supermarket cheese.
You know what i mean by supermarket cheese right,
the type which comes wrapped individually in plastic,
and you can’t call it real cheese.
Anyway, i was quite curious as to how much they’d charge for that.
And when i saw the bill, i was like, “I can’t believe they charge RM10 for 2 pieces of kraft cheese!” “It’s okay.”
“No… sheesh!”
Actually i complained a lot more than that but am censoring it out >.<
A bit disappointed la.
Tak sangka Delicious will serve that kinda cheese
Anyway we’ve decided we’ll patronize Pink Sage cos it’s so much closer to home,
everything on their menu looks yum,
it’s cheaper than a lot of other places,
and i’m craving for another vanilla milkshake.
After spending a day at Dreamland,
we made our way North to Ubud
and managed to find a new guesthouse for the night (thanks to talking to locals and getting recommendations from them!
they even offered us arak while doing so!)
When we checked in, i was told there was no air con
And (giving my reason for not being diva here!) i’m just very used to air con
cos i’ve been sleeping with it since i was a kid
“There’s no air con baby… but the room is nice.” “I’m going to DIE.” *looks up at ceiling fan in mock faint*
After breakfast, we set out to:
- find accommodation with bigger pool for next two nights Nyepi Day was the next day, and everything was going to be shut,
so we needed a place to just hang out at ALL day
- find champignon
- stock up on beer and food for next day
- (and for me) find a pre-paid card for my BlackBerry access.
I used Simpati (90,000 rupiah for 1 week unlimited data including SIM card)
The place i got my Simpati card also sold lotsa colourful sarongs
me, Alix, Olivia, Elodie
Waiting at a random bar for the boys.
Went for a quick walk around Ubud market.
Man, the prices there have really risen ever since the locals realise they can sell their things for so much for to tourists!
Clem and i saw a really cool collection of 5 elephants cast from metal.
“There’s mommy and daddy…*pointing to 2 largest ellies* There’s the children… *points at the 2 small ellies* And that’s the urm… *stops at middle-sized ellie*”
“That’s the maid.” “…!!!”
“HAHAHA” “You and i come from really different backgrounds here.”
Went to a reggae bar to chill out for a bit
I practically attacked the waitress to inquire where they got the gold deco from
Thom, Olivia, Clem
‘Twas a nice afternoon,
we drank beer,
blew bubbles down onto the street,
danced around by ourselves,
and i took a picture of an old lady before we left.
We stopped by to check out the Ubud Monkey Forest,
and were so lucky cos the ticket counter was closed and went in for free
I’ve got a wee phobia of monkeys,
ever since i got chased and clung on to
at the Botanical Gardens in Penang,
and Deer Park in KL -_-
Nevertheless, i crept closer and closer
to get a good shot with my pancake lens…
And stopped taking pictures altogether when the below happened.
I scampered away thinking, “OKAY ENOUGH PICTURES.”
Preparation for Nyepi Eve Parade.
All the roads were to be closed so we were rushing back to park the van.
We even shifted 3 venues -
Library for some salmon salad,
then The Apartment for some lamb curry,
then Laundry for a nightcap.
Besides all the jabbering we did,
Ean also told me about this Chicken Game that’s currently on Hitz.FM
In this game alone, they’re giving out a total of RM50,000 cash.
RM50,000.
That’s a load of moolah, man!
I could go on a world backpacking trip with that!
Or make a giant mushroom garden!
Or import a cow and champignon farmers from Bali!
You get what i mean.
Here’s Ean explaining to me how it works, watch it first before continuing!
It’s basically getting 2 callers to compete against each other.
They take turns shouting out their own name
before the buzzer goes off,
as the cash is raised higher and higher.
That’s it!
This only goes on till this Friday tho,
so you gotta pay attention as to when to call and get some cash.
I’s thinking of trying it out myself,
but i have a feeling the Radio Announcers won’t let me play
cos they know me
and will prollie be called out for being bias
