The book “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin states that one of the most important factors for happiness, is growth. I couldn’t agree more! [Read this article on happiness: lifeclub.org/p/happiness ]

One of the best things i ever did was to register my company and expand it to doing whatever i want to do… the possibilities are endless! I have so many ideas on how i want to grow it, and at the same time, forcing MYSELF to grow.
I think i was getting way too comfortable being a blogger and not having a big… GOAL.
Starting my own business has forced me out of my comfort zone and definitely increased my own growth exponentially in the past six months.
I’m forced to learn all these new things, ask questions, make bigger decisions, strategize my own direction… it was exhausting and a bit stressful at first. Thoughts like, “Man. Why did i decide to do this… what was wrong earning a decent income every month and living life with no stress…” But i wasn’t truly HAPPY the past two years. There was always something NAGGING in me that i’m not doing everything i can, that i’m not pushing myself, that i was frustrated for a reason. And now i can say i AM happy! I’m busier than ever, and have less time to cook and manage the house… but i manage. Somehow. The 20-year-old me wouldn’t BELIEVE how organized and neat the 30-year-old me has become!

My new office is not much to look at now, but all these little things that happen every day is a tiny step towards my dream.
Got a water dispenser – yay!
The toilet is fixed – yay!
And just a few days ago, got my first door sign – YAY!

I didn’t even pay for it… it was an extra sign left over from POP @ Jaya One where we opened a pop up store for a week XD

Another milestone of sorts was when our Dyson ball DC48 arrived!

Never thought i could get so excited over a vacum cleaner before… will soon blog a full review on the marvelous machines that i’m using! To know more about Dyson’s latest products, SweetEe went to their launch event and wrote about it *here*

Speaking of loving your job, Jess and Ion from WE ARE KIX are putting together a cool mad scientist kinda project at Publika this Sunday called “Can You Walk On Water” >

They’re always doing such crazy shit that’s connected directly to their work that they’d be in my Top 100 list of people i know who love their job!

A bunch of us went for the DVF event last week.

Last Friday i had dinner with the FormerFree girls. Well half of the lot anyway. We were supposed to go out and eat, but i offered to cook one thing, and as usual the anal host in me ended up doing tenderloin, duck fat potatoes, and strawberry & grape salad. I realize the only reason i had them over is cos i managed to shift the stock to the office and i didn’t have to be embarrassed at how my home resembles a warehouse anymore!!!

Sarch gave me these supercute colour pencils from Barcelona! SPANKS SARCHEE!

I bought new ponies at Toys ‘R Us… Clem and i had an hour to spare before watching the premiere of Rush or Gravity (both were good btw) and i ducked into the toy store. “JUST FOR 5 MINUTES,” i swore. Buying toys feeds my shopaholic tendencies just as well as fashion…

Last Saturday night we went to Khailee‘s new SOHO pad for a party. He did it up with upcycled materials and secondhand stuff like vintage fans, old grills, pipes, wood, etc. It’s even got a sofa area that transforms into an elevated dance stage that lights up  0_o

Thanks for the party Khailee & Xinch!

Oh the other day i had an AR (augmented reality… someone asked me what it meant) shoot for Magnum ice cream. I was so happy to have to eat Magnum that i continued scoffing one after they’d gone “Cut!!!” I had to go through five ice creams btw. Can’t wait to see what it’ll look like during the launch next week!

Nice pix of my mum and Caeser – the super spoilt dog that Clem reckons i have issues with.

octjoyce3

Of course i have issues… i don’t recall my mother hugging me like that all the time!

There was a massive storm last Thursday, and i found myself in standstill traffic… but all was good cos i happened to have tapaued duck rice for dinner and happily scooped a few spoonfuls into my mouth while listening to Jack Johnson’s new album.

Went for Nur’s cross-dressing 30th birthday party! I wore a singlet and sarong cos i was feeling lazy. In the end the sarong was too hot but luckily i thought of wearing Clem’s boxers underneath!

There were so many hot girls dressed up as guys, i got confused as to whether my talking to them meant i was picking them up. Then there were guys who memang dress up as girls. And guys who went OTT in women’s clothes. It was very confusing.

The only guy who pulled off a tight dress was JP, he was SMOKIN. Next to him is Nur 😀
