Almost there

Comments (2) La la la, Musings & Personal

I’m so close to moving
We’re just changing the sink to a larger one, putting in the bathroom fixtures, getting a few last pieces of loose furniture and i’m just gonna move in.
I MISS MY CLOTHES.
Omg it sounds so shallow but i’m so sick of wearing the same things out of a couple of suitcases and boxes for the past 2 months. Getting ready for work is a little nightmare every day cos i have things that are unmatched and i’ve been repeating outfits.

I’ve been running to the apartment in between time at the office and events.
This week was quite mad, i think i went for 8 events.
Come Sunday i just couldn’t face people anymore.
I just COULND’T.
I needed a day where i didn’t have to talk to people.

On Sunday night, i went over to the apartment by myself to take some pictures and final notes of things that needed to get done. I tested all the lights, beamed at how beautiful my dining table lights are, grinned at the circle light above my bar, and exclaimed to the empty space, “I can’t wait to move into you!” It felt good.

It was a riot last Tuesday when the carpenters, contractors, curtain people, and movers for a cupboard and bed, were all in at the same time. Everyone wanted to talk and discuss something and i felt like i was being pulled in different directions.

I’m not going to go into how many stupid things can go wrong when doing up a space… but i’m gonna think instead of all the things that have gone RIGHT.

+ + + + +

Work is busy… we’re running a few campaigns simultaneously and i’m enjoying it.
But i’ve barely had time to blog :p
I’m gonna need a hiatus from events once i move, so i can settle in and just blog about all my amazing adventures…

We had a little conversation in the office this week which made my hair stand.

Baby: Joyce *very seriously* We need to tell you something.
Me: What… *hates it when a sentence starts like that*
Baby: I think there’s a female spirit in the office.
Me: What?! Why would you say that…

Then they told me that she and Andrew were in the office one night, when they heard a girl’s voice calling clearly, “Andrew” from the back room.

Eek my hair just stood typing that.

I was being optimistic, “Are you sure it wasn’t someone randomly calling from the back lane?”
Baby: Eh no… two people heard it okay. We just stared at each other and left.

Then apparently early one morning, Andrew was alone in the office and a balloon moved in the office. I think it could just be the air cos maybe it was the air con moving it around? But who am i to say when i’m not the one experiencing this.
A couple of things have gone missing in the office, only to reappear on their desk the next day…
and Andrew claimed that he left the bathroom with two cups in his hands to return to a closed door.

I don’t think it’s a bad ghost, cos DB just visited our office recently and didn’t mention it, plus i think the space has got good vibes. We named her Kim (after Kim K) and Baby started giving Andrew sneaky glances about how Kim has a crush on him.
Andrew: 0_O
Me: Baby!! Stop it!

Nevertheless, Baby and i discussed how we’re gonna cleanse the space.
I’m gonna clear the walls with  my bell, and sage the whole place.
Baby is gonna use some Malay spray which works wonders to clear spirits.
I’m gonna throw rice and beans in corners (learnt that one from Joleyn).
Whatever la, we’re gonna do it all- Chinese, Malay, New Age…
I’m actually fine if it’s a friendly ghost but as Baby said, kesian Andrew cos he’s the one kena-ing…

In other good news, two more peeps have joined KBF as retainers!
Joleyn (who was regional marketing director for Levi’s) has joined us, and Michelle (a blog reader who was previously at Peak mag). Can’t wait to see how everyone works together…

We got Andrew to design them their email signatures, and i let everyone choose their own designations cos i think they’re all just labels anyway.

Sarah is Moonlight Pixie, Baby is Little Dragon, and Andrew is Senior Kitsune.
Mine is Chief Fairy Creator.

Joleyn cracked us all up by putting “Mother Souperior” cos she’s the most senior amongst us,
and Michelle asked for “Keyboard Kitten” cos she’s going to be working on the blog and social media.

I tried to imagine clients’ expressions when they receive emails from us and mumbled to the team, “How much is too much?”

Other than that, i’ve started dating again.
It’s a nice surprise cos i was just about giving up hope of men in KL and suddenly i met someone who attracts me greatly and has the same interests and values as i do (which is so important)!
He’s so cute and caring i just stare at him sometimes and feel like squishing him into a little box to carry around with me.
He does all these things that make me happy, and it’s easy for me to automatically flow towards what makes me happy…
I honestly don’t know where this is going… i’m just getting to know him better.

Patty was annoying me by purposely going, “So what time is your boyfriend coming to pick you up?”
Me: Stop it, he’s not my boyfriend. He’s still on probation.

You’d think we’d be past this when we hit adulthood but noooo

Anyway, it’s nice to feel like a teenager 🙂
