Spent 3 glorious days at Pulau Rawa last weekend (it seems so long ago
)
There are only two places to stay on Rawa.
The one with the better food is Alang’s, where we chose of course!

The rooms are nicer than a backpacker’s place,
and we each paid RM650 for 2 nights stay including food.
Because there’s no air con, i felt it was a bit steep.
Then again, because of the price, it’s much more private

We stayed at chalets A1 and A2,
with the beach right on our doorstep.

I made a pseudo tent under the chalet
Clem looked at it and said: “One day when i have my own business, all the cloths to build your tent with will be from Hermes.”
I was like, AWWWW that’s the nicest thing you’ve said to me!
Combining fashion and toys… oh my heart.

Waterrrrrrrrrr clear waterrrrrrr

Magic wands to hold on to. Very useful to poke people and point at things you want them to pay attention to.

It was so freaking hot that hiding under a wet scarf was a brill idea

Shading the ponies while admiring them

Making use of the bubble blower Steph got me

We tried to draw each other…

Nadia got Sa’s bikini stripe colours down pat!

Clem didn’t draw me as a person, so i said he was cheating.
He said he was drawing a rainbow cos that’s what i am to him.
Awwwww

Btw there are 7 colours in a rainbow *cough*

I was trying to take a pic of my Circle of Peace floating in the pristine water (JUST LOOK AT THAT WATER)

Then Clem threw a paddle in to accompany it and i was like “… spoiling my picture….”

I found an ant struggling on the surface of the sea about 5 metres away from the beach,
so i cupped it into my hands,
walked over to a tree,
and placed it gently on a leaf there
where it trotted off.
They said i shouldn’t have saved it cos it was a red ant.
But i’m not going to be racist with ants.
Besides, i secretly thought at the time maybe that red ant will send some special Red Ant Message out to all the other ants not to bite me in the future.
WHO KNOWS.

Alang’s Rawa has two resident dogs.
But they’re not your regular beach mongrels, there’s a beagle

Sorry, dogs not allowed chocolate…

I randomly found two balls on the beach amidst all the sand.
First was a tiny fluorescent yellow one (ok it was more like a bead).
Then a perfectly round smooth seed of some sort.
I kept them safely in my bag of course.
They’re Wilson’s long lost brothers.
Finally, i found a letter ‘B’
Sa said balls are following me…

Today, ‘B’ is for ball, bunny ears, beer, boat, beach, and bikini.

Nadia and Sa were raving about how good the food was at Alang’s before we booked the trip,
and i forgot all about it.
They weren’t kidding!

Dinner was the best – fish, squid and prawns were grilled for us,
and laid out buffet-style along with pasta, salad, rice, potatoes, etc.
EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD.
We basically stopped talking and ate non-stop,
i tried so hard to eat lots of everything…
God the prawns… the prawns were so fresh!
And that Alang sauce…
Even the salad was fab.
*sigh*i want*

We spent nights lying on the beach
watching the millions of stars
talking silly nonsense
which is the best really.

Late one night i doodled outside while Clem watched and we talked.

I think the only artist i’m ever going to contend with is a 5-year-old.

Had such an awesome time,
and Rawa is definitely one of the most gorgeous beaches i’ve been to in Malaysia…

Seeing our last holiday together was Bali in March,
Clem and i decided to take off to Tioman for a short holiday,
before flying to Shanghai to meet his mom + stepfather.
The last time i’d been to Tioman was in 2008,
and i decided to stay at the same place again – Salang Sayang Resort
No air con room was available when we booked,
save for the RM170 one which i thought was so not worth it.
So we stayed in the sea view room for RM100 a night.

View from our door

Breakfast is the only meal where we have clashing issues at times.
He always wants Western – toast, eggs, sausages, etc.
I always want Asian – gravy! oil! rice!

Two little island boys ventured near us (probably mesmerized by all the colourful things i had in hand)
so i gave them some chocolate i had in my bag.
Watched them munch it, thinking to myself they have no idea that the choc was from Tuscany.

Hat from Baci, Amedei choc from Selfridges.

We took a boat to Monkey Bay, which is more private and where we spent 2 afternoons.
Packed a cooler of beer,
lots of colourful scarves,
pastels + paper, food, snacks,
etc.

Last year, DarlingDhanya won the Female 50 Gorgeous People finals
And with it she also won 3 nights stay at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort
Since she doesn’t have a man to go with right now,
and her parents didn’t want the holiday,
who else better for her to go with than with some gfs
Seize opportunity of free stay in nice chalet over the sea, i say!

We had a spacious balcony that constantly had the tide going up and down
making wonderful splashy sounds all day and night

The room was really nice
they upgraded us to a nicer chalet which could fit four of us in there comfortably
Went to the Oriental Village to buy mixers, chocs, maggi cup and beer
I’d never say no to Duty Free alco
If you’re wondering why we’re buying maggi cup on holiday…
That’s cos the hotel food sucked so bad
Which was really horrible
Cos when we’re on holiday, we’d like to eat yummy stuff as and when we want
I tried room service, food by the pool, bleah
Chicken rice, burgers, sandwiches, all so disappointing for hotel food!
Only breakfast was decent -_-

As usual, i lugged a huge bag of scarves, accessories and toys to dress up the room fairy style

Most of the scarves you see in the pictures are bought from Lah’Lah’Land

We kept on giggling cos BogeyTheGiraffe looked like he was layaning everything we said
He’s making an appearance at Cat Got Your Tongue tonight!

Pony + wabbit conference
Wabbits will always and forever remind me of LynnLim

“Is that a cat?”
“… no… it’s a rabbit!
“
So much for years of art classes

Doesn’t just looking at happy colours make things so much more cheerful!

The other chalets outside
and how Chalet Madness looks

Aps and i went on a ‘mission’
but we lost the plot halfway
i had my superpower fairy wand
she had a string of yellow beads
um… so yeah we did kinda look like two crazies traipsing around

I wanted to sit in a bubble bath in my bikini

And got shrieks of laughter when i unknowingly walked out
leaving a trail of bubbles

Because food was so bad at the hotel,
we’d take an RM28 (one-way) taxi ride out for dinner every night

Yes we LOVE FOOD

I used Biotherm Aqua Source and sprayed on new Estee Lauder Pure White Linen on holiday
(Both are sponsored, but both are mentioned cos i really like them)

We spent most of our time lazing on the beach
Reading, talking, basking in the sun, dipping in the sea

Sunday night we went to Sheela’s Restaurant and Cafe (at Pantai Tengah)
recommended to us by someone

The food was ok (but anything is better than the hotel food)
and we met Sheela who chatted to us and she’s soooo friendly and interesting to listen to
Summary: She married a German whom she met in Berlin, and she used to live in Germany which she still loves
Restaurant has been open for 17 years and she wants to open chalets behind it in a couple of years time
Has a son who’s an interior designer in KL
Yeah, she spoke a lot, but she exuded warmth so!

I’m back.

Cruise was very the nice indeed.
It’s such a different experience and the convenience of waking up in a different location almost every day is freaking awesome.
Schedule went like this = eat on ship – party on ship – eat on land – party on land – sleep on ship – etc etc
The moment we checked into the ship (we took Star Cruise Gemini btw), they took our passports and we each got an ID card of sorts.
Every time we disembarked or got back unto the ship, the card would be swiped.
And every time we bought something on the ship (alcohol, tours, memorabilia), it’d be swiped as well.
RowdyRudy spoke true when he held it up and said to me, “This is… very very dangerous. We have no idea how many drinks we’re buying.”

See the striped brollies on the top deck? That be where the pool at.

Checked in around 5pm, and got used to the ship a bit before dinner.
Food’s provided the entire trip so phew.
We kinda forgot whether we had to pay for food as well 0_-

For every meal, we could choose to either eat at the Mariner’s buffet area (which we didn’t have to dress up for) or at the restaurant downstairs, which was served in courses and a bit more proper.
Obviously for the first meal we went the nicer route and ate as we watched Port Klang disappear further and further into the distance.
In mind: YES! We’re getting away from KL! We’re going awayyyyy!!!

Alcohol was decently priced at around SGD30-60 per bottle of wine, depending on which vineyard ’twas from.
First night, i didn’t drink that much.
Shared a bottle of wine with RR then got really tired.
Prollie from lack of sleep and food in KL.
So i went to the room to watch the final days of the US election (>.< Yeah i know right. I usually have NO interest in politics, but for the last few days, couldn’t stop watching the speeches).
RR stayed at the bar, made friends with all the bartenders and had (too) many tequila shots. Psycho.
Anyway, next morning we went to check out the pool on top deck (8)

Damn 7 pretty right!

People are constantly getting on and off at different ports, and at that point of time, the ship was really empty, so we had the whole pool in the morning to ourselves!
The glory!

At times when the pool got crowded, we wandered about the other decks, taking in the scenery.

It was really spectacular.
Just watching the surface of the sea rush by, with the breeze ruffling my hair was really soothing.
At first, we were like, ‘wow… this is sooo romantic..!’
Then ended up looking at each other in disdain.
“Oh my god, this is so romantic!”
“I know… imagine if you’re here with your other half. If we had one. It’d be so nice,” i sighed.
“Dammit!”
“Oh shut up. I’m stuck here with YOU too ok.”
“And all the places you can shag around this boat!”
“Haha i bet the crew have stumbled upon many people doing it before!”

For long periods of time, we didn’t talk, just basked in the sun and our own thoughts, while staring out at the changing patterns of the ocean.
It was a really nice time for reflection.
Maybe it was the book i was reading as well.
Made me think of a lot of things.
What i want in life.
What i’m looking for.
What i’ve got.
What i haven’t.
Fate, chance, love.
Yeah, i emo-ed sendiri a lot on the boat :p

We had a few hours in Penang on Tuesday, so we took a smaller boat out to mainland.

You can’t possibly go to Penang and NOT eat hawker food right, so (due to despair and not knowing somewhere nearby we could go) i texted my cousin Johnson to ask for directions.
So happened he was free for lunch, so we met up and he took us for some SUPER AWESOME char koay teow with huge juicy prawns (sorry no pictures, RR and i were fighting over prawns and i forgot) and laksa.
Daymn. Writing about it now it making my stomach rumble

Johnson + RowdyRudy
Went to see my auntie in her bakery for a while, and she pushed gelato and cream puffs into our hands

Then had to search for an internet cafe to do some work and reply emails for a bit.
Back to the boat in the evening, the ship was having some gala night where we had to dress up a bit more for dinner before a show.

After dinner, we went to hang out in the fresh air with our bottle of wine before the show started.
Cool thing is, we could just carry our bottle of wine with us wherever and nobody bothered us.
If anything, the crew kept on wanting to help us carry stuff to which we’d go, “It’s okay! We have hands! Don’t worry!”

The wind is really strong on top deck. Can’t open my eyes wei.

Ho ho… then we wandered right to the FRONT of the ship where it was SUPER STRONG WIND cos of the speed we were going at.
RR: This is how a kite feels like!
Me: I think my dress is gonna blow right off.

See how the wind is just blowing the flesh on our faces 0_o

Okay more pics later, Krabi ones!

I wanted to just post a couple of underwater pictures, but got a bit carried away with a few extra ones that lead up to them. I really really want to blog more but it’s late and i have other work to do.

More pictures of Tioman last weekend:

After diving, we decided to take an easy afternoon and snorkel at Coral Bay instead.
Six of us sharing one boat, RM60 each.
I bet it could have been cheaper but we couldn’t bargain it lower as it was.
Or maybe we just sucked at it.

MaryBerry, DoraemonKenny, Fairy, spinner!

Emilio, Denis, Costa
You know what the picture below is..?

It’s proof that spinners bring smiles and laughter to people regardless of age, race and origin.

Daymn. I should be a Spinner Spokesperson.

Beautiful day, couldn’t have asked for better weather!

And then you know what. When we reached Coral Island/Bay/Reef/whatever, we discovered that the people on the main island forgot to put the snorkeling stuff into the boat.

So us six made best we could – swam out to sea, played with spinner, took heaps of pictures, put on music. I thought it’d be terrible we didn’t all have our snorkeling stuff together, but it was so gorgeous a place and everyone was in such a good mood that it was impossible not to have fun.

We took heaps of shots underwater with Emilio’s and Kenny’s digicams. So far i only have the ones from Kenny’s:

Haha! Fish getting into the picture!

Then we started getting whack, wearing our sunglasses and holding the spinner underwater. Okay. So it was my idea.

After a while, MaryBerry and i were getting really good at posing underwater

Check that out man. We look like we’re doing kung fu kicks.

Kenny joined us for a picture too…

MaryBerry’s by far the best poser.
Look at that easygoing stance in the water, relaxed smile and open eyes.
Me, boleh jalan la.
My bouyancy a bit lari in this picture but at least i’m smiling!
And Kenny…
0_-
Closed eyes… muka pucat macam nak mati lemas… and that angle *puts on Malaysian Dreamgirls judge voice* It’s really not one of your best angles, i’ve seen better. *stops Malaysian Dreamgirls judge voice*

I hope Emilio sends us the pictures soon, i want them!
All this picture-taking underwater is beckoning me to get an underwater casing too… SO FUN.
I can already imagine the crazy pictures i want to take in the kiddy pool with colourful balls floating on top.
*psycho glint in eyes*

Oh, i went to watch the premiere of Indiana Jones last night.
There were some scenes which left me wide-mouthed screaming mentally, “That. WAS. SO. COOL!!! Yay!!! Go Indyyyyy!!!”
