Am i the only one who thinks This Is It was disappointing?!

Comments (9) Ugh

“How was it?” asked RowdyRudy
“It was disappointing. I can’t believe i had to pay money to watch that.”
“OH MY GOD. You must be the ONLY person i know who did not say it’s amazing!”
“… I’m serious ok. Maybe everyone’s blinded cos he’s dead, and anything they show about him is great now.”

I’m not trying to be kurang ajar, but it’s true!
I knew it was going to be behind-the-scene rehearsal shots,
and maybe i was expecting more narration to it.

Maybe i was expecting too much,
maybe i got overexcited.

I AM such a huge MJ fan (as are half the people on this planet),
and even cried when i knew he’d passed on.

I’m not saying i’d rather not see those behind-the-scene shots,
of course i wanted to!

There were so many thoughts running through my head as i watched it:
How he could still pull smooth dance moves at his age
How he was ahead of fashion and influencing architectural shoulders and military jackets
How fab the dancers look and how, perhaps, i should have pursued dancing (crazy thoughts, see)
How fantastic and creative the direction for the concert woulda shoulda coulda been
How sad it is that nobody got to experience his last concert save for the team rehearsing

I just don’t think those rehearsal clips can justify being on the big screen…
It seems more suited on home video or something.

Kinda obvious that Sony is making hell alot of money from MJ fans out there and milking it for all it’s worth after his death.

Ironic how when the show ended, i thought, “That’s it?”
And almost laughed out loud at myself, before sighing from disappointment   :xbummed:

Well, that’s my tuppence ’bout it anyway.

Didja like it?

I still think they shudda included a few more clips of him moonwalking though. My 2 guy friends beside me were complaining the whole time

and i thought I was the only one. me and my partner came out the movie feeling a little, dissapointed.
everyone around us was raving about it and we felt, was it just us?

we didn’t really felt it did MJ justice nor did it belong on the big screen being sold the way it’s been sold like hot cakes.

so you are not the only one!!

but i did like one msg that the ‘movie’ send out tho, LOVE. 🙂
Everything boils down to Love at the end of the day to solve a lot of problems. whee

It was what I expected actually. The footage wasn’t meant for a silver screen, but rather to help in his final performance and his private collection, so to expect a quality for cinema viewing would be too much.

I agree with the lack of narration though, but I suspect they had to make more time to show the performances. Anything longer would make it draggy and somehow lose its effect.

But it was still really cool to see how he is during the rehearsals. We all know him as the performer, and the little insights into how he conducts his performances were quite interesting.

Sony had to make money, they paid 60 mil USD to buy the rights! 🙂

Nope.. you are not the only one felt disappointed for it. It’s real a home video thingy .. your know ? like those video which usually screen on TV1 or TV2 during any merdeka day or new yr eve something like that.

It’s so weird to put it in cinema and during the screening i heard lot of ppl chit chat’ing ~.~|||

btw, i was thinking of when actually he’s felt unwell during the rehearsal … coz he is really tooooooo fair. @.@
