I almost didn’t go for this event cos i was honestly quite pooped, and i had to pack for Tioman to leave the house at 2:45am. But glad i went, and proud of myself for leaving after two drinks.

Celebrating the shoe designed by Nike’s founder, Bill Bowerman, in 1972; the Nike Cortez was the first track shoe to be created by Nike. In the first year of its release, sales reached USD80,000 and it’s said to have propelled the company to being the successful brand it is today. [source]

To celebrate the Cortez’s 40th Annv., five countries have taken part in the project called “40/40”. Each country (My, Sg, Th, Indon, Ph) has invited 8 artists to create a one-off Cortez inspired by the spirit of the shoe. Below are the wonderful works from Malaysian artists:
