Thanks to HANGER for featuring Leftblock in their AW10 issue!
Loveeeee

And thanks for asking us to spin select songs for the first set during the party last weekend!

me + Chelle
I told SarChan that i felt like i was cheating on her as i picked songs for the set.
She retorted that she had to let me continue and live the dream -_-

I twisted these H&M stockings and tied them up into a headband.
Due to their psychedelic colour, i’ve dubbed them my Paddle Pop stockings.
And weirdly enough, have been craving rainbow Paddle Pop since then!

Chelle is wearing Leftblock Neon Orange Slip
I’m wearing the Leftblock Salmon Tail Cape.
silver shorts; raoul
white tank; zara
I love wearing the cape when there’s wind!
Makes me feel like batman.

I was incredibly late for the Le Midi launch
cos i had my French class till 8:30 (still being diligent for that!)
and dropped by the Thirst preview for an hour.
Le Midi is a new restaurant in BSC, across House + Co.
I can’t say anything about their food since i didn’t try any,
so i’ve linked some food bloggers who DO have something to say about it at the bottom of this post.

They’ve got jellyfish which are undeniably pretty as part of the wall’s deco,
and i couldn’t help feeling sorry for the jellyfish
even though i googled to make sure that they don’t have any feelings

Kevin Yeoh, why are you playing with the strings?
Oh, it was my idea you say?

Cheese to accompany my wine made me stay even longer.
I’m a sucker for cheese.

Then is was Matt’s or Tubby’s brilliant idea to balance the flowers on their heads.

And then we all started doing it (it was quite difficult!)

Serena cheated!

Okay, so i was really late for the Topshop event.
In fact, i missed the entire show!
But i tried to catch some of it, i really did,
ran out of French class 30 minutes before it was due to be over,
and rushed to KLCC.
I didn’t want to skip my French class entirely cos hey, i pay for it.
Even though it sometimes feel like a chore to go for classes,
it’s different being a student when you’re an adult!
Anyway i managed to show face,
snap a few pictures,
and view the massive queue inside the store which dissuaded me from buying anything (sorry i can’t take long queues!)

Thanks very much to Choon @ Vibes for picking me to walk for Uniqlo‘s store launch last night along with other personalities from the Malay, Chinese and English-speaking entertainment industries in KL!
I went for a fitting a couple of days before,
where Japanese super stylist Tatsuya Shimada (i had to ask his name like 5 times to remember it! >.<) suited us up head to toe in Uniqlo garments.
An hour before the event, we all met up at the Marriott to be chauffeured (cheh wah! kononnya only 20 metres -_-) to the event.

AlvinGoldfish + Shimada
Shimada got Alvin to wear meggings, which i thought were superjap and skinny Alvin could pull off really well!

Dominic Lau was hosting the event,
and he asked Alvin and i a few Qs when we arrived.
I look awfully small next to them
And i’m wearing 4-inch heels too!

Shimada is the sweetest thing!
And awfully talented at his job too,
he did a fantastic job on all of us!

Went to the swanky launch of the new Blackberry Torch @ Westin last Friday.
The moment i walked in, i felt like i had to be all serious cos everyone was in suits.
Black suits. So serious.
I wish someone would have a ‘colourful tie’ event.
And everyone would have to wear colourful suits,
that’d be such a sight!
But for now i’ll leave these kerazy thoughts for another day.

This was Clem’s and my favourite food they served that night.
We politely fought over the last bite.

Bernie emceed the event,
and a game ala Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was played to win a new Blackberry Torch.
It was really entertaining with lots of joking around, and the questions had to do with Blackberry (of course) as well as some general knowledge ones.
There was one on the French Revolution and i told Clem, “It’d be really embarrassing if you don’t know this!”

Blackberry addicts – Niki and Elaine

Someone’s little Bel wanted to stay out and party instead of going home for bedtime, awww.
At a certain age, women tend to stare at other babies and wonder what it’d be like to have one of their own.
It’s unavoidable, i think. That moment comes sooner later.
If not the desire to WANT one, at the very least – wonderment.
I overhead *someone* say, “I want a baby,” while staring at Bel.
She got told by Niki, “Then go get la.”
Like as if getting a baby is like picking out spaghetti in the supermarket.

Bel holding her mummy’s Blackberry.
Oh how the children of today learn to hold a smartphone before learning how to cycle.
I realise the fact that i’m currently in a generation where there is already a younger generation all ready to say to me one day, “Oh Joyce (cos they would never call me Aunty, we’re all too modern for that) you’re so old school (a phrase which will probably be replaced by another, also meaning ‘old school’ but sounding way cooler and not in existence yet).“
One day, it will happen, i know it.
