Cartoons for the 70s & 80s babies!

Comments (14) La la la

ChelleChelleChelle, JacintaTravinia and i were killing ourselves
trying to remember this cartoon from the 80s –
which were colourful and could roll themselves up in balls.

popples

I even woke up the morning after, thinking
I HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT CARTOON THAT IS!!!

Found out it’s the Popples on Twitter from DidiBuli
and was like YES THAT’S IT!!!

While attempting to search for the Popples,
i rediscovered all these old cartoons
whose opening videos made me feel like a child again!

When you think of it,
watching those cartoon intros over and over again
when your senses as a kid are so heightened…
you never forget certain scenes which you always watch out for!

Do you remember:

The Wuzzles!

wuzzles

My fave was always the striped elephant!

The Adventures of Raggedy Ann & Andy!

Duck Tales!

Darkwing Duck
Let’s get dangerous… haha

Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers!
Chip chip chip chip and dale!

Punky Brewster!

Strawberry Shortcake!

I used to have a Strawberry Shortcake tricycle which i was super proud of in kindergarten :p

Gummi Bears!

Gummiberryjuice!

JohnLim also reminded me about the Snorkels!

Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles!
(before they became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!
Looking back now, i have a feeling He-Man is gay.

Smurfs!

Ghostbusters!

Dennis the Menace!

Denver The Last Dinosaur!
Oh, one of my favourites!

Thundercats!

Man, i remember fantasizing being part of the ThundercatsΒ   :xshy:

And everyone knows My Little Ponies!

Jem & The Holograms made little girls back then
want to dress like them and be in a band.
I always like the Misfits more tho,
and wished they had more air time on the cartoon intro!

Captain Planet
I always thought the dude with the red ring had it better than the rest!

Heathcliff!

Potato Head Kids!

Danger Mouse!!!

Charlie Brown!

Alvin & The Chipmunks
the original 80s intro!

I also used to be in love with Jayce (probably because i thought he was the male version of Joyce :p)
from Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors.
Watched this when i was in 7 in UK tho,
so don’t know how many will know this!

I still have my Moon Dreamers storybooks and figurines
and will never get rid of them! Never!

And something i always associated with the Moon Dreamers,
were Keypers!

I still have my pink snail oneΒ   :xpleased:

Wow that turned out to be a long post even tho i planned to post less than 5 vids or something

-_-

They just don’t make cartoons like they used to anymore tho,
and i must say,
i’m proud i grew up an 80s baby!!!Β   :xlaughing:

oh my god i’ve been trying to remember what Moondreamers were called since last year! every time i described it to someone (“neh, the one with the small girls and the bright hair”) they’d look at me as if I was making shit up. and there were toys? take photos! i was a very underprivileged kid, didn’t get me any moondreamer toys. πŸ™

Oh My God!! I’ve been trying to remember the name of the Popples for 6 months now… everytime I described it to ANYONE i was like, “You knowww… the things that were fuzzy balls then they bounced around and turned into creatures.” You could hear them thinking I was a crazy person. Thanks sooo much for relieving me of this!
P.s. I watched the My Little Pony movie on Youtube one day and it was as amazing as I remembered it being when i was a kid. πŸ˜€
