Hair maestro Alexander Yap from The Met, and i

I modeled for The Met, a hair and colour specialist salon in Parkroyal KL, for their submissions for the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards this year. This is the picture that got them into the finals.

The press conference for the Colour Trophy was a few days ago, and i had to go to KL Hilton at 10am for rehearsals, hair and make up, and a short catwalk for the press at 3pm. It stupefies me every time, how so many hours and hands are spent preparing models’ faces and hair, then BANG. The entire show is over in 10 minutes.

I think this hairpiece was bigger than MY head

There were 14 finalists from all over Malaysia, and it was quite interesting to look around and see what were considered the trendiest hairstyles at the moment! There wasn’t a single finalist with long hair heh. Short cuts rule!

Make up was done by Reyo from M.A.C. I love the shading that he did… don’t think i’d ever end up doing it like this for myself!

The next day, we had to meet up again… this time for a shoot for some female mags. I had the exact same make up and hair prep done all over again…!

I adore Alex’s current hair colour (he changes it all the time)

I’m quite relieved everything is over and done with… it’s quite tiring to have your hair tugged on and face painted for hours, no matter how glamourous it seems. At one point i almost BLINDED myself in the eye with a makeup brush cos i fell asleep while Reyo was working on me.

My hair has pretty much been owned by them for the past few months because of this whole awards thing, but now…. it belongs to me again and i can do whatever i want! I was thinking of just leaving it because it is a gorgeous cut and colour, but i know it won’t last me while i’m in Europe.

PLUS i won’t have to face corporate clients for the next two months, and can go as insane as i want… i’ve missed having crazy hair! So i’ve asked Alex to go mad on me and revert back to the old original Joyce – cropped sides, bright colours! i don’t know what we’re gonna do yet. We’ll see… this Wednesday ๐Ÿ˜€
